    Oil Pan Carnage

I posted a couple photos on the van page, but thought I would share here.
Girls borrowed van, came back like this.
Rod was not connected to the piston or the crank.
Crank has metal imbedded into it.
    Balance shaft unit is broke.
Bolts that hold the oil pump on were sheered off.
Once I unbolted the balance shaft unit, the oil pump dropped to the floor.

Did they put it in a ditch and was partially under water?

Never mind. I see it was back from 2011.

    Re: Oil Pan Carnage

The pan had a lot of metal in it. (Of course)
Pulled the head and took a look.
    No hole in the piston.
    No blown head gasket.

    Re: Oil Pan Carnage

Got the other engine installed today.
Made a brace to hold up the trans while pulling the engine.
    It worked real well.
