It looks even cleaner than my 54000 mile Lancer Shelby.
But it dosn't have a common block 2.2 like mine...
Timing is everything Jay. Steve M's beautiful SL was for sale for about 1-5 to 2 years. Finally sold Last summer or fall. Worth every penny paid. One owner 70K mile with perfect cloth interior and very nice 90% original paint with 5K miles on complete rebuild 2.5 CB with S-60. Won multiple first place SDAC shows. Would have been perfect for you.

I've owned my Shelby Lancer since January '99 and absolutely love it. I've done a lot of upgrades to it, but stock-for-stock, I have to admit a Lancer Shelby is a superior vehicle mechanically speaking, especially the '89 model. I might be splitting hairs in the grand scheme of things, but the '89 Lancer Shelby had better wiring/electronics (SMEC), better front K-frame (dual pivot A-arms), a 'REAL' Turbo II engine (forged crank and better rods), and don't forget the 2.5" swing valve!
I've upgraded my own '87 Shelby Lancer to exceed all of those points, and the car is a blast to drive. It now has '91 wiring/SBEC/PDC, '91 four-wheel vented disc brakes front/rear, '91 dual pivot cast A-arms, polyurethane everywhere, 3" TU swingvalve and exhaust etc..
Not to mention.....the H-body LS/SL is the perfect car to do a 16v swap. I myself have a 2.5L 16v TIII motor waiting for my own SL. It won't be the fastest thing on the street....but I will have a hell of a lot of fun with it. Every time I drive it I'm surprised at how great it handles on the street. Better than my CSRT even (probably not hard to believe..)

What a beauty!! Wish I had the money for that!!!!!! I remember looking over one just like that when they were new!!
Rod any pics???? Oakley1@ix.netcom.com if you can email me some would be awesome.
Yea, but last summer I didn't NEED a car so the SL thing was just kind of a future want to replace my New Yorker. Now that I need a car the SL/LS/Pacifica? has moved to the top of my priority. Though the wife has mentioned taking the money and just dumping it all into the ShelbyZ/Masi setup but I really want a 4 door vehicle for when I have to take the kids around. Was kinda hoping a beautiful body with a blown engine would show up as I can just dump all the drivetrain/suspension parts out of the Yorker into it. I have my 8v big flow setup just sitting on the shelf I was going to throw on with the GT30R
There is one on the other coast on TD. Automatic
looney can you cut and paste a URL to the thread so I know which one you're talking about?

He is in Virginia.
That's the one I was thinking you were referring too. But want good to great paint and body on the car. Faded and/or beat up is an instant no for what I want.
Lancers everywhere suddenly...
It belongs to my wife's uncle, he's on here from time to time. I sent him a text, so hopefully he'll contact you soon.
