    Do you know if the '90-up mount can be used on '89-down?
    Is it an easy mod...just seems this style would be worth changing.

    If you change the engine bracket, I don't see why not. They didn't change the fender mount between 90 and 89.

    The late style mount like the one shown above won't fit because the bolt spacing is wider than the early ones.
    So even if you change the engine bracket to work it won't bolt to the frame UNLESS you do some retrofitting
    and welding in a new base for the mount to sit on.
