    Description:

switching this thread up a bit.

Parting out 84 T1 short block. PN on side of block is 4105730, casting date is 4-24-84, 6 bolt crank. This is basically everything that is on the short block, minus the head. I'm not sure what this came out of, but it has been sitting outside outside for a few years. Only good as a core or a base for a project.

I completely disassembled the engine today. It will need rebuilt, crank turned, etc etc. Rods are for sale in separate thread.

Make offers on the parts shown. I wont keep it around for ever, eventually what ever is left will go to the scrap yard.

I will not ship the huge stuff (block, crank, etc). Come pick it up, or I can meet you somewhere close-ish, but not for completely free, unless Im headed that way anyway.

    yup, your right. duh.

let me double check whether its a common block or not. This might be an 87 T1 motor.

    My guess it's an 85 T-I.
    Should have H.D. rods.

    Thanks
    Randy

There is no logical reason to call an Engine a motor.

Re: 85 T1 short block core

thanks guys, I've updated the info. The casting date on the block is 4-24-84, so does this make it an 84 T1?

I think the 89 common block actually got moved into the garage for storage a few years ago, not long after I pulled it from the car. Its been so long since I've messed with this stuff I forgot what went where.

Re: 89 TBI common block core

I would say yes!! They are H.D. basically as good as T-II rods but with press on pins. Some folks prefer these as a weak wrist pin cir clip can allow the pin to walk out and score a cylinder. Happens often on high mileage engines with full floating rods.

    Thanks
    Randy
