I wonder if that wheel is so "laggy" in design because it was attached to comparatively giant 3.8L engine?

It's supposed to be a great wheel. Designed specifically for the GN engine that's why the guy that built my turbo said not to use it unless the housing is used with it. The exducer sits very shallow in the exducer bore using a standard garrett housing and so the whole wheel doesn't follow the contour very well.

I know the Buick compressor wheel was a popular upgrade. Not so sure if the turbine wheel is as good of a match.

I'll know on the compressor soon. That was my upgrade the GN compressor and housing with a stage 2 turbine. Looking forward to finding out.

Interesting...I ordered an HY35 recently, so maybe some day I'll take this turbo out and have a look. That could certainly explain things.

It's in a .48 housing, although that housing may not be doing any favors
