    L-Body radiator/intercooler combo in P-body?

Hey guys I have a radiator/intercooler combo from an L-body that I want to put in my P-body, but the mounting points are wrong. Is there any cheap/easy way to get it to mount, or do I have to like drill or weld? If I can get even just the radiator in I'd be happy, because I have an aftermarket intercooler that I can use, but I need room for piping and my current radiator is too wide.

Honestly, I would sell it. The true GLHS style rad/ICs are L body specific and rare. You should get a good price for it which will allow you to do what you really need to do with the car.

What year P body? There were many mounting configurations for those. 90 is especially hard since it was a one year rad mounting setup.

I have a 1988 CSX-T. I have two P-body radiators, but both are too wide to fit IC pipes around. I had the GLHS combo from a T2 2.5 charger I used to have and was hoping to get it to work. Where could I find a P-body combo?

TU had some at one point. There are other aftermarket options that can be made to fit too. I know that JT had a G body TII setup in his Shadow and it fit with a couple of brackets to space it out some.

I would look into other after market options. I bought a used t2combo only to find it couldn't keep up with the cooling duties as it was a 20plus year old unit. Put a TU aluminum radiator in and never looked back.

I would love to put a TU custom aluminium radiator in, but they're $350! That's over 1/4 of what I paid for my car. I don't even need an rad/intercooler combo, I have an aftermarket IC. I just need a small (preferably cheap) radiator. Does TU sell just a small rad? without an intercooler attached?

350 is for the rad only.

if you want to do it cheaper the 3 core honda rads on ebay might work out for you don't mind making your own mounts

What?! $350 for just the rad? Fox, thanks for the suggestion, that looks like exactly what I'm looking for.

Cheap, fast, reliable. You can only pick two.

I'll back up what Cordes said. The L body GLHS rad is rare, and if yours is in good shape I would have gladly paid you $350 for it when I was looking for one. Sell your GLHS radiator, then put in a TU rad (they are AWESOME, my heat guage never moved when I had it in!) or a more common G body TII radiator.

For a cheaper alternative, you could look at a stock replacement non-intercooled L-body radiator from a parts store. You'd still have to fabricate the upper mounts, but they're narrow enough that I was able to run 2.5" intercooler pipes on each side in my old Shelby Z.

I only need to run IC piping on one side. I'd prefer to hang onto the L-body combo at least for now(who knows maybe I'll get a charger and make it TII). I like that godspeed one, it's cheap and good enough for now, until I get a full time job, then I'll get a TU aluminium one.

We have about 5 left and don't intend on making them again.

I ran a metal 86ish NA L body radiator in my 88 years ago. It was 2" wider then a daytona T2. Worked well and the brackets were very simple.
