Should I replace my Struts this year?

I am planning to do some auto-crossing in my Daytona IROC R/T this summer and I recently picked up a set of NOS Monroe Formula GP shocks for the rear. I plan to install the BC racing Coilover kit from RBryant next year, but I am no a tight budget this year. I just finished building up a welded steel front strut brace and I want to know if you guys recommend that I pick up a set of "better" struts to use for the season. The front is somewhat floaty and you can bounce it pretty good by pushing on it with your hands. I assume the front struts are gone or are on their way out. I have looked at the KYB GR2's as my best aftermarket replacement but would they be worth it for a season? Are they going to be too soft with the way the rest of my suspension is?
    Thanks

If you haven't already purchased tires up to the task, that would be a better investment, especially if you are planning on doing the suspension all over next year.

I picked up a set of new tires last year (Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's 225 35 R17) They made a huge difference!
