You can get brand new stockers for 350 from Modern Performance. Other vendors may have them but that's the place I know of off of the top of my head.

Grab a mostly complete engine for 150 bucks, and then go on neons.org and find tons of good deals on parts. If you look around enough, it's not hard to get a Turbo PT engine around here.

I am LOVING the wheel fitment with the full length K-member and axle. I've been dying to get a dual pivot K-member done up for mine. I wanted to do the normal narrowing it down the center, but I like your idea better. Allows you to use more common parts.

Have you thought about using a steering quickener?
May have a cheaper solution for him on a 2.4.

    Very interesting rear suspension!

Are you planning to use those Revolutions?

Do you want to sell those ESM wheels you bought?

    Very cool stuff!

Not sure what wheels will land on it just yet. Might be the revolutions...they've made multiple challenge appearances over the years!

    ESM wheels???

Some dark grey 15x8 mesh wheels i saw in your drag week shadow thread a long time ago.

Here's a more relevant question.. are 8" wheels too narrow for this car? Planning to go big big like the Scaries?

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

Oh, those...they were a photoshop that someone did. I never had them. Must have been a good photoshop!

Bigger would be better. Not ScAries big, but I wouldn't mind a 9" wheel and maybe some 245 Hoosiers (if they exist...). I mocked up the 10" Diamonds with the 275's and it was just too much. With the wide track on the thin body, I'd be building massive flares.

I want to get a drivetrain hanging in the mounts for weight and at least have the front suspension buttoned up, roll it outside and look at it. Be easier to decide then.

This is the upper spring seat I made to mount the coilover spring into the stock L body hat. It's scrap steel welded together as a plate, cut round to fit the spring, a piece of 2.5" exhaust pipe as the spring locator (sits inside the spring), a small piece of roll bar tubing capped at the top that rides on a washer, which rides on the bearing. A clamp or a piece of mechanics wire will hold the seat to the spring.

I doubt it, he has really trick way to fabricate a new one using saw dust, ground up old racing tires, and used oil. He just hasn't gotten around to doing it yet so no pictures.

last time i bought SRT-4 pistons and con rods, they were 100$ shipped on ebay.

they were low mileage used units.

dunno what the market is like now.

im curious on how you are going to keep the fenders from getting crushed with the track width.

    looks like fun.

With using the Aries rear twist beam, will you also be using the panhard bar (or do we call it a track bar here?)

I'm just going to run 800 lb springs so the tires will never get near the wheel arches.

Yep, it will have a panhard. I'm waiting to build the mount for it until I have a better idea of what the spring/shock or strut location will be to be sure I don't run into any interference issues.

This should be interesting to follow. Always tempted to do a Rampage for the same reasons you've listed (lightest and longer W/B) and it's the easiest to shed weight from.

    Looking forward to your progress!
