Yes, stock airbox cut up and used as a pcv filter. Block is vented to it now, valve covers will be routed to it in the future. Sealed up the bottom as a catch can of sorts, with a nipple that will drain to an oil container.

We may be back in business for SDAC!

Pulled it apart again last night and the oil leak was definitely the cam seal. This is the second time the seal was fine, then after running for a bit started leaking. Pulled it all apart, popped the seal out and found the the seal surface on the cam had a chip in it. This explains why it would start leaking after it ran for a while.

Not having the time to lift the engine enough to replace the cam, I got a bit Jethro hack on it and installed a new seal in the head backwards, which moved where the seal rode on the cam out past where the cam was chipped. Total hack, but after a test drive it seems to be working. Should be good enough to get me through SDAC.

Ton left to do, but barring any additional hiccups, we'll be ready to autox in Sunday! :-)

Fail. Road tested last night, puking oil again. It obviously does not want to go to SDAC.

    Re: Pat's GRM Rampage Project - $2014

I should change the subject like of this thread to "The Never Ending GRM Rampage Project." I'm throwing in the towel for '15. A few staff issues at work, some hold ups with the car and family life that seems to get exponentially busier by the moment has shelved the Hellpage for another year. Next year...

Oil leak is fixed so it's a running, driving car but it is untested, has no roll cage and I've done zero body work which is the huge time suck. First street impressions are pretty good so far, but I already know I'll need to work on the brakes more as it will lock the rears a bit too soon.

I'm going to push it aside for now and come up with a $1k recipe for GRM this year since they reintroduced that class again. May have to put old faithful (black Shadow) back to work again.

If putting an 8v in magically did body work and paint, I'd do it.

Had her out for a little dancing last weekend while the weather was still good. She has so much potential...
