Thread: What Stall?

    What Stall?

I am using a stock convertor right now and am thinking about getting a new one. My van is under 3,000lbs raceweight and has a mildly built A413 (supposedly good for about 350whp). I am running the .48/.42 T3 @ about 18psi, FMIC, stock head/cam, stock intake and exhaust manifolds, and a 3" DP and cutout. I will also be running some very sticky 235/60/15 tires soon.

What stall should I go with?

Stick with stock. No need to go more stall speed if you have a stock cam and stock turbo. I feel coverters should be kept as tight as possible.

Really? I could understand that if I were going to be spraying a lot of nitrous, but I figured with a turbo a bigger stall might help for drag racing. It is a very small turbo though.

Go with a similar to stock stall... just get a nice tight HD Nan convertor. I have a similar TQ in my heavy daytona...

+1 stick w/ a stock stall the only reason for a higher stall is to get a big turbo spooling(bigger than a hybrid)

Ahh, ok. Thanks for the advice. Stock = free, so this is great news.
