    86 reliant wagon goes 15.7

I took my wagon to the track with the Chicago guys and had a good time. The mods to the car are 2.5 inch exhaust w/ racemagnum bullet muffler, 87 TI MP cal, 12 psi creeping to 13psi at the traps, K&N drop in, devilsown alcohol kit.
    The slip reads:
    60' 2.196
    330 6.377
    1/8 9.918
    mph 70.33
    1000 13.052
    1/4 15.713
    mph 85.70

Next time out I hope to get the overboost eliminated in the computer or fool it and run 15-16psi. I'm hoping to hit the 14s before winter.

Very nice times. Wish i could have got my car to come off the line correctly. Not to mention it was slowing down big time about half way down the track. I was one of the guys with the daytona shelbys.

I love that wagon! You said you got another motor for it right? Want to get better than 14's? Turn the juice loose!

Yeah I have another motor thats in pieces (all the machine work is done though). I have a couple other small things to do to it before I let the spray at it. Maybe I should just set it up like your shadow since I have all the stuff sitting here collecting dust.

I dont get why I'm slowing down so much on the top end. I'm running .5 slower on the top end then Jeff C did when he was TI but the rest of the slip looks close to the same.

You got a stock 80k mile '87 Shelby Lancer motor and a good A555?

Slowing down? Stuff is warm / less efficient maybe? LM pulling timing out?

I could take and throw on a 2 piece, +40 injectors, 3bar map, T3 w/ .63 housing, stock TII rad/cooler combo and see what it does but that sounds like alot of work. My luck as soon as I did that a rod would take a crap.

Don't you have +20s, JT? Did the Shadow cut out on you at all?

Yeah, you should be able to get more out of that setup just by adding alcohol. Is this the early T1 setup? +20s will fit into the old style fuel rail...you just can't use the clips. As far as the top end, maybe check the valve timing? Next time borrow a code scanner and check for knock.

    ooops, yeak 42pph injectors.

Boost cutout in 4th (19psi) on the 1st run (13.08) .... put the MAP bleed back in and no cutout for the other 3 runs...

Yeah this is the early TI setup. I might actually be able to back the alcohol off since it was only hitting 12psi and I had it going full on by 10psi with a M5 nozzle. I checked the setup with a scanner at home on the street when it was running 14psi and it wasn't getting any knock so I'm assuming I didn't have any that night since it was soo cool out. I just wish I wouldn't have found the vacuum leak so I could have ran the 14psi.

I'm going to get the shift light put in before I go back so I know what rpm I'm shifting at.

If I toss a roller cam in with a square tooth sprocket will that advance or retard the timing?

Re: 86 reliant wagon goes 15.7

    Retard, I believe. 4 or 6 degrees...something like that.

    My first T & C wagon went 14.11 @ 96 on 18lbs...

    Read about it here:

    www.thedodgegarage.com

Go to turbo database, then #26 "intercooling the log"

Re: 86 reliant wagon goes 15.7

R/T I've read about your car in the past. I want to see what I can get out of the car without an intercooler. I have another motor sitting here that just needs to be put together and dropped in. Or if the bottom end holds together I might just do the GLHS style top end swap to intercool the car.

So fast w/o intercooler. Hmmm, you know nitrous is an intercooler?
