    VNT Orfice size vacuum diagram.

    I have the diagram... Pretty sure I have it figured out...

    But what about the "orifice"


    What size is that...



    (What I have going is A VNT engine setup on the back of a sandrail)

    0.030" if i remember correctly...

    Your doing a non-computer control for the VNT? Or are you looking for something like would be on a early TI car?

    I ask because my brother's GLHS (86) had a VNT with a tee and changeable orifice in it that controlled the boost/reaction of the turbo...

    Otherwise, I'm not sure there is one on the computer controlled (two solenoid) set-ups...

    Computer controlled boost.


    Not sure if there is one either. Some of the vacuum diagrams show them and some don't.

    I can't remember if this on came out of the vnt system or not

    That's the vacuum ejector, it makes vacuum on the T port by flowing boost air through the nozzle. It's used for canister purge and cruise control when operating in boost since both need vacuum to operate but there is none avail from the manifold when in boost.

    Ahh... Cool... good to know...






    Here is the best Vacuum diagram I found for the VNT... It is the same as the FSM.. but doesn't require a magnifying glass to read.. like in the FSM... and just shows the important stuff...

    I happened to have a "green" orifice around, so I rolled with it.... I guess we will find out... With the very free flowing exhaust on the buggy I ain't sure how well this may or may not work.

    Yeah controlling VNT boost can be difficult with wide open exhaust. Good luck with the project!

    It ain't wide open... but darn close... I'll choke it off if I have to.. I should have more than enough power..


    and if it turns out to be to much to deal with the VNT, a turbo swap should be no big deal with the engine nearly hanging right out in the open!
