Feedback on this prototype batch? Due to my job I take great interest in what the process is like to make a product from scratch.

    Now available, contact me Joelzips@gmail.com
Prototype costs with molding cost was very very expensive. Unfortunatly I have to get $150 a set shipped for 4 spark plug gaskets and a main gasket. I'm scared I won't get my money back even at these prices. Just about identical to OEM but with 15 years of rubber advancement. Took 8 months of back and forth with prototypes to get these the way they are.

Looks great and nice price. I'll have to wait a couple weeks as I'm purchasing a large item and want to get that out of the way before I drop more cash

Joel, great work in getting these done in the time frame you did and the manner of personally fronting the money for the community. You wouldn't want to start another project getting the door moldings for the 2 door L bodies would you?

Gotta wait for a bit to see if this is a losing opportunity...but it has opened my mind for some other repops, I thought about omni bumper ends and mount covers as well.

Re: Going forward with masi valve cover gaskets!

Just out of curiosity, have these been tried on a running and driving car? We are all super excited to see the product for sure and I will be sending my payment for one this afternoon, and then another this weekend (waiting on the paycheck to hit). I just know that there was some previous attempts at making this project come to fruition, but the performance of the prototype was less than desired and was part of the reason it got torpedoed.

No test. If you don't like it I will refund. I'm trying to send some today so that someone can install them. Pretty self explanatory when you see them protruding out of the rails that they will work. They are also softer than the originals with better memory.

Way to go Joel for being able to complete the endeavor. We see having a friend in the business makes it considerably easier to obtain multiple versions until it's done right.

FTR- The few vendors we found willing to agree to low production numbers were difficult to work with. When the gaskets didn't meet our standards after 3 tries they decided to keep our money, our new original samples and the test pieces they produced. Some might say we gave up, but, in reality Joel stepped in before we could obtain another OEM example to have reproduced and we were more then happy to let him take it from there.

Congrats on a job well done!

Re: Going forward with masi valve cover gaskets!

If it were not for Chris starting this project in the first place I would never have thought about doing this. I have been in contact with him a few timed during the process and was encouraged to take over where it was left. We should get these on some cars in a week or so with feedback. My supplier was about finished with me as well. I could have gone back and forth a dozen times if I had endless money and time, but I am very happy with these pieces and confident they will work for many years.

Certainly thanks to all of the people involved in making this happen.

Just to be clear, I never intended to take away from anybody's efforts. Just in case there was a question.
