Well, no buyers with a motor that needs to come apart so I shipped it over to MockGLH for a disassembly and crank clean up. Crank is at the shop, looks like .010 will take care of that. He set about making sure the motor is VERY CLEAN inside before it goes back together and sure enough, he did find bead blast media in the pan and elsewhere As it turns out, part of the oil galley in the head has a dead end that just can't be accessed. He flushed and flushed the galley out with solvent but it was still returning gritSo he drilled each end, brushed the galley clean (yep more 'sand') and threaded in some smallish NPT plugs. I wonder how many 16V TIII cars have bits of dirt/junk in that corner of the galley?

I am still in need of shop space so the price will be adjusted up for a well prepped, *RUNNING* IROC RT and car will be sold to the right buyer. You local? I have a Team Shelby friend in Canada just fried one cylinder in his GT 500 so he is considering a fly down drive it back trip but that isn't a done deal. Still for sale.

Yah i'm on the opposite side from you haha but i was considering having it shipped. I'm in MA. I COULD fly over and drive it back too but not sure if i'd have time to do a 5 day road trip. Depends on what the adjusted price is ha

In 92 I flew a friend and myself into Washington DC to pick up an 87 Shelby Charger, we made it home in 32 hours driving in shifts. That was a little pressed though as we both had to work Monday. It may have been because my bud was driving between 100-105 that we collapsed a lifter in Arkansas but a stop at a boneyard and 45 minutes later we had it changed out and were back on the road. About 6-7 years ago my brother and I went to Charlotte North Carolina an picked up an 89 Maserati TC 16V, we stopped at a Walmart, bought provisions and a couple small fishing poles. For the next 2.5 days we stopped at little lakes and streams and shot guns and fished. We hit a coyote at about 2am in New Mexico that broke the front spoiler bracket but some safety wire had that fixed temoporarily and we made it home without any mechanical issues. Some of my best roadtrips were shared with a friend when I picked up a wrong coast car and drove it home. It's a great way to see the country but it doesn't take 5 days. Depends on your haste I suppose, Butch made it hoe from SDAC in this car 4 years ago, he was driving solo and it took him less than three days. This IROC is a very nice car, running with all it's upgrades and fresh bottom end, I'll likely ask $7K and take a little less.

The IROC RT came back from the local club member who does rebuilds(when he has time), it runs sooooo fricking nice at 7PSI(WG line hooked to manifold source) that I don't want to sell it anymore. Washed it, waxed it, did some spiff up and put about 20 miles on it today. It's the only G body I've ever had and they just drive so solid and nice. Probably that extra 800 lbs they carry over the L bodies right? Anytway, a few folks had PM'd asking for pics, here they are. Price point it $6800. *Unless* we have been communicating via PM and I gave you another price. So many upgrades and new parts, one hellofa car I just don't have room for all of them anymore

My son wants it soooo bad! He want's to trade in the 89 GTC we've been working on for him together. Kids just don't understand that a 350+HP car is not a good first car. I may let him have the GTC repainted red, he saw Frank's red GT TIII 'Vert at SDAC and was smitten by that car too

Yeah you only had two years, I could see how that wouldn't be nearly enough time for you to make something happen

yea but I didn't see any of the motor rebuilding till yesterday which upped my interest a lot until I saw it was sold.
