    Thanks for the tips on the later coils everyone. I have a 98 Wrangler 4.0 coil coming with the matching pigtail from Rockauto. Not too terribly expensive, and it will solve the problem for a long time to come I suppose.

    What coil are you referring to? I see the thread for the speed sensor, was curious about the coil.

    I picked up the following from Rockauto. It was relatively cheap, and I've had good luck with the NGK products I've used over the years.

    The mating connector should arrive with it, and I can easily splice that into the harness. This will go in Joy's Daytona which was already converted to this coil type's location, but the wiring was for the aftermarket stuff such as would require the adapter harness that I've seen linked to on this site. I figured that with a coil for a 98 wrangler, I couldn't really go wrong.

    Oh ok. This is the one style I've been running for a while, would need to get the new pigtail to adapt, but good to know they are still widely available.
