    Re: Connectors

Randy .. I think you could simply relocate the charge temp sensor to where you need it..

should be holes in the front and back of the plenum
I had two april '87 cars.. shelby z's (early vs late)
they had differing locations for the charge sensor and different o-e vacuum harness assemblies
vacuum source locations on the two differed from front and back locations on the manifold

but .. one fits the other if you just move stuff around on the manifold

april 87 also seems when the dual diafram brake booster started going into daytonas

    Re: Connectors

    It doesn't relocate.

There's no spot at the back of the 1 piece for it.

The wires are very short and only reach to the R/R corner.

This is where the original 2 piece had it located.

    Thanks
    Randy

    Re: Connectors

    Good thinking Johnny, much appreciated!!

This connector is very small, it probably has a name or number size.

As I'm an electronics dumdum I don't know of the actual connector names.

They're probably in this thread somewhere, maybe someone will clue me in.

    Thanks
    Randy

To plug two of those little tiny 2 way sensor connectors together (metripack 150.2 series is the official name) you need a coupler.

You know I'll help you however I can Randy!

Shipping to Canada has got expensive though, as you may already know.
I went ahead and bought it for you, since it was the last one.

    Re: Connectors

You sure are a great friend Wayne!!

What ever the cost along with any expenses, no problem.

Remember when we were discussing fuel pump modules way back??

We discussed the little internal jet pump that prevents fuel starvation.

While cleaning up my shop today I found the 1992 Caravan module!!

I thought I would mention it just in case you wanted some info.

Anyway, thanks very much for jumping on the last connector!!

    I sure appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Randy

    Re: Connectors

I had developed a whole list of links to a bunch of suitable upgrade plugs for our harnesses and then did a soft reset on my PC. I should have saved them to a notepad file. That's usually what I do with everything. Obviously my bookmarks tab was going to get cleared out in a soft reset.

    Re: Connectors

Awhile back I bought a new old stock stock horn package via ebay. It came with the horn and a bag full of adapter harness sections to adapt the horn to whatever possible vehicle side connector chrysler had used. In that assortment was one of those coupler connectors, reading your description and the light bulb went off because I knew such a fix existed. That connector is made to plug into the end point device so there is (to the best of my knowledge) no 'other half' that exists where you could make it an inline style wire to wire termination except unless you use that coupler.

You're welcome Randy, anytime I can help.
Got a soft spot for Canadians I guess since marrying one! Lol

It said 4 days for shipping to me, so I'll get it packaged up when it arrives.

On the fuel pump, I ended up going with a slick custom tank and external pump. And it works great for the most part. But I still get some weird occasional cavitation I don't like hearing. So I think I may go back to an in tank pump in the custom fuel tank.

Oh, if there is anything else you need, think about it and we can arrange shipping it all together!

I wish there was an answer for the 4-wire O2 plugs beside "F you, you're F'd". I think I'm just going to get a new O2 and switch to these for my wife's daily driver. I have to redo the entire engine harness anyway. At least you can get most of the other pigtails.

A 4 wire sensor is a 4 wire sensor, pick something common and newer like a 2003 neon and use the upstream sensor. The harness side connector is available and your not having to create a custom reworked piece every time you need one.

    Re: Connectors

What do you know about changes to O2 signal voltages between generations of FWD Chrysler, or between Turbo, TBI, or in my case, also flex fuel MPFI? I have them all, and the car that needs work immediately is a 1989 TBI car. Know anything about O2 signal voltage for a TBI car that uses a four wire O2?

They are all the standard 1v narrow band sensors. It shouldn't matter which one you use, whether turbo, tbi, flex fuel, etc.

    Exactly.

I converted the Shadow to use the same up stream sensor as the Concorde which is 9 years newer. The scan tool data stream is identical and the newer sensor is about $5 less. A win for commonality and win for my wallet.
