Do you happen to have a tune for a stock head +40 tune, or what tables need work.

I believe the peftbl. I'm still learning but I think that is the correct answer. You'd probably be better off starting with a tune that was made for a car with stock heads.

Are both Turbonator T3 tunes for a ported head car, my car is running way too rich!!

How do I manipulate tables as a whole to adjust the whole range, as soon as I touch the throttle the car goes to 7.4 AFR or lower.

There is no PEFTBL in the TIII cals. The software is completely different from the 2D cals.

Re: Tuning help for a TIII using MPTune

Can you give me some guidance, I put in the stock turbonator T3 tune and scaled it for injectors and MAP sensor. The car is running better now, but anytime I touch the gas pedal, the AFR drops to 10, How do I go about removing fuel and which tables do I manipulate?
    Thanks

The TIII cal needs a lot of work besides simply scaling for injectors and MAP.

I don't have time right now to explain it all (at work). But, there are other TIII tuning threads here that have some details.

Re: Tuning help for a TIII using MPTune

Alright, So I was stumbling around in MPTune tonight after reading a lot of posts today. I seem to come across the density factor tables for part and full throttle. I started adjusting the part throttle table and that messed up the idle, so I set it back to default. I then started messing with the full throttle table and I had some great results. I can get the car to run 11.5-12.0 afr under wot. Needs more work, but getting better and driveable.
Here are my current questions and issues:

After warming up, the car now on first start up idles at 1000 rpm, but the AFR is 9.0.
I can blip the throttle and the adaptives take over and bring the car to 14.7 and an idle at 1000 rpm.

When idling after stabilizing, If I blip the throttle, the AFR will drop to 10.0 or about.

When cruising down the highway and im coasting, I hit the throttle and it goes rich, but then it leans back to stocih.

I think my issue is transient fuel, I am just not sure how to adjust that.

Also the staging limiter and cruise control are both not working...

    Making progress at least

Subscribing to this, Interested to see how your big injectors turn out. It will be a while before I can get started tuning mine.

One thing you definitely want to adjust that isn't automatic is the latency table (fuelbatteryoffset).

This table is unique to every injector design. If you have to guess, I'd scale that table by 50% or smaller for 72s.

Re: Tuning help for a TIII using MPTune

I started adjusting the (fuelbatteryoffset) table, I got that good, I then adjusted both density tables and I am now getting a nice 11.6-11.8 AFR to redline at 19 psi. Under full boost and 1/2-full throttle I am also getting a check engine light. I am assuming it sees knock, but I do not hear any detonation and the car pulls really well till the light comes on. From what I gathered from tohers, the car should not be knocking at this point, maybe phantom knock. Fuel seems to be really close now. I have MPScan running and when the "check engine" light comes on the power does feel to decrease, but the gauges on MPscan do not how it pulling any more timing. I can post my log files for anyone with more knowledge to look at.

Idle is now good after warm up, getting much closer. Tuning this car on fuel is not showing to be that hard really, but ignition may be a whole different story.

Also, The cruise control and staged rev limiter are not functioning. I may throw my FWD Stage 4 ECU and +40's back in to verify that the CC is fully operational or it may be an issue with the tune. I am uncertain.

    "...Tuning this car on fuel.."

I might have missed it but are you planning on going E85 later?

I am planning to switch to E85 down the road, but right now I want to learn what I can about MPTune so when I switch, I have most my questions answered. Car seems to be running well on premium.

Re: Tuning help for a TIII using MPTune

Tried to remove some variables last night, I installed my FWD Stage 4 tune and +40 Injectors. My cruise control is still not operable. So the problem is not in the tune. Car ran good last night and on the FWD tune pulled 19 psi with an AFR of 11.5 all the way to redline with no knock. Got my first kill last night on a BMW Z4 just messing around with it. Going to run this tune for awhile to familiarize myself with the way it runs and likes to run now.

Not sure on the t3 cals but the cc functions are disabled when using switchable boost (I think).

Re: Tuning help for a TIII using MPTune

I re-installed my FWD tune that was in their last season, I know the cruise worked last year. With my tune from last year, the cruise is still not functioning. I was hoping there was a way to check some info in MPscan, but I have not found any troubleshooting.

So, even the FWD cal doesn't have cruise? This is a flashable SBEC, right?

The cruise worked last year, I changed some stuff under the hood this winter, I must have done some thing to it, I know I had to disconnect it and remove it for something, I just cant recall why. Cruise worked great last year.

Is there some gauge I can set up in MPScan that I could use to help troubleshoot it. I want to know if this is a vacuum or electrical issue.. Also my BCM has been going crazy and I wonder if it has any bearing on this. Just a few electrical gremlins.. Good old chryslers.

This particular BCM was socketed by FWD years ago. I then added a 4 pin socket extension. I have the flashable SBECII chip from you, but right now I have a FWD tune chip installed.

DD - off topic but i noticed the description on the botton doesn't indicate it is an ftdi cable, just a regular usb serial cable. can you either send me the mpscanport.txt file or post it up here. i thought you were using rob's cable. hmm.
