Reliant or Aires or 400 2dr.

    Date: 10th February 2014
    Username: mopar-tech
    Full Name: Gary Donovan
    City, State, Zip: Oakdale CT
    Contact: garydonovan@hotmail.com

Selling or Wanted Price: depends on vehicle

Description: Reliant or Aires or 400.

1985 to 1989 would be ideal, would consider another year. Manual or automatic, could go either way. Not sure if building road course or drag car at this point, or even both.

Reliant can't make it this year, too much fabrication to do to the car and too much on my plate already.

Please. Use. E-mail. for fastest response.

I have a 1987 shadow CSX. Firewall has been moved/boxed in for a LARGE turbo set-up, and was set-up for a 2.4 motor. Also changed to an automatic. Has a bolt in rollcage, all interior is intact. Has aftermarket front seats, missing rear seat, took it out to put in the rollcage, and forgot where I put it.... no wiring harness, no motor, no trans. Still has Shelby steering wheel, trunk medallion and dash plaque....

Odds are it will turn into a first race car for one of the boys, good way to get them started.

Not sure if you would be interested Gary, but I have the black shadow that I got from Kelly Gomer. Its completely gutted and has a roll bar in it ( it came that way). The body is straight and is as far as i know very clean underneath. I had plans for it but not sure when i'll get around to it. Lmk if you want me to get some pics. In the meantime i'll see if i can dig up Kelly's post...

No VIN though which is a slight problem if we want to get plates, might want to one day. I looked at it months ago before you picked up it as the price was right and thats what prevented me from grabbing it then.

There is a local '92 TBI car I have been looking at, the only down side is dumping the '92 electronics.

Back up motor for the k-car, trans is already built and I have the intercooler from the Daytona/Spirit to slap in and go racing.

Anyone know the weight difference between a 2-dr and 4-dr P-body? 87 4-dr just popped up.

If someone had a decent Reliant or Aries 2-dr I'd consider that as well.

Gary, according to shipping weight the 4 dr. is 35lbs heavier. The 87's being lighter than the 88's.

4-doors are so much nicer than the 2-doors for daily driving and practicality. Go for it. In my opinion, the 4-door P-bodies look better too!

Certainly a lot more functional. The part that drives me nuts is the seat belts in the "B" pillar flaps in the breeze and is annoying as can be (with the windows down) in the 2drs, yet not at all in the 4 drs. Me likely the 4 drs better too. FEAR THE 4 DOORS!!!

Not for daily driving use, mostly racing. Drag and autocross.

Car isn't going to work for me for what I have in mind, needs to have interior and vin. Even if I picked up a junker (which there really isn't any around here) it would take less time for me to drop in a turbo drivetrain then swap everything over.

Free time is a HUGE issue with my new job. The job is great but places steep demands on me at times.
