My footage shows my freeze plug blowing and the tow truck coming...
It's hard to see that turn even coming up.
...got an action cam for Christmas...now I have to get out to a track
Update on the consulier intruder GT1 restore. Trying to be ready for a Daytona track day in April.
Trans out
And the engine out
Looks good
What kind of FI on the LT1?
i believe it was wired for a motec m8, but i rewired it for m800.
the block is a Rodeck, im not sure of the internals yet, when it comes back from TEC ill post it. we think its around 420 CI, and puts out 750-800 hp.
the trans is a hewland VGC. They were built for GTP and CANAM cars of the early 90's i believe.
Starting to work on this now. Build thread to follow. Factory built IMSA car.
On the way home , and then getting some respect.
Stuck some new cheapo Chinese tires on so I can roll it around shop easier.
Not sure what to start first ,
will be doing - full suspension rebuild, all new brakes , re-wire,
Choose and install engine. Likely do a t2 for parts availability, gonna run to rossion n check out the NOS engines left.
Down the road,- replace fire system , seat- gotta see which seat sits lowest for more helmet room.
Obviously the list will grow.
Taking blue car to track tomorrow night.
That's quite a stable you have there . Consulier looks right at home. Sounds / looks like that series 2 has some interesting options ( fire system, dual wipers, engine cover intake ). Congrats!
The note in car says "Chet Filip" , has full roll cage etc.
The stable of cars is part of a business venture - high end car storage and rental.
Need to store your Lambo? Only use it 2 days a year? We store them and also offer some as short term rentals ( with a very very large insurance policy)
The Gtp get more attention then all the rest.
Took blue car out for a track day tonight. Super powerful with the t3. Had boost way down to start -8 lbs. Moved it up to 18 at highest
What a blast. Steady at 135 mph. Great brakes.
Very neutral handling.
Had one spin/off track incident. Trying to push it too hard on street tires.
I keep waiting for the over steer and it was nothing like the bmw in that regard. Also easy to correct when you start to slide.
All in all it was a super positive experience. Thanks johnny for all the bushings etc.
Nice!

....is the front inside tire off the ground in that first pic? Looks like you had a blast!
Yes and yes. it was a lot of fun.
Car was pretty easy on tires too. My Bmw burns thru them much faster.
Started plugging away on red race car. While blue car is apart , made molds of the belly pan and engine cover
Going to Rossion to grab a couple of the NOS engines and tranny ' s
Also think I found the original engine to this car , and feshly rebuilt ( circa 1992)
Are those freshly molded parts then?
