Got power to the stand alone , now running the engine wiring harness. Serious spaghetti. Laptop and program on the system makes it much easier.

Had to machine a trigger wheel to go on to crank. Rather then put it on the outside of the pulley and have it possibly have more wear and tear, ( more distance out from the crank)
Instead machined one to fit inside of the pulley.

now that's how it should be done ^

I think you might even be able to sell a few of those pick up wheels

if I were looking to add a pick up wheel I'd likely be hounding you for one right now ..

Funny , that you mention that.
I was just saying that to my buddy the machinist.
Let me ask him how much he would want to make a couple extras.

Would be sweeter if we could get some pulleys made from Aluminum and just a bit smaller diameter, but not quite as small as the previous underdrive pulleys.

Working on getting the innercooler scoop and engine cover fitted. ( they came from a different car)
We had to cut off one bar on the roll cage to aid in fitting it. We will bend a new tube to fit and weld it back into place
Had to trim engine cover- note its full carbon fiber.
    And then re-shape the scoop.

Also roughing in the other gauge "pod".

Engine wiring is all roughed in , and doing some plumbing work with goal of firing her up next week

Wires running thru window but once its all set , we are going to add a plug on the bulkhead so that engine harness can simply just unplug from body harness , facilitating the inevitable emergency engine swap. note the drivers side part of the roll cage.

    Re: Factory Consulier/Mosler RACE cars

During this cars last outing back in the day it suffered some body damage, and I believe a blown engine.
Drivers side rear 1/4 made some contact
Some on track use of duct tape was used.
We have now repaired it properly

The rear tow hook was not mounted to anything substantial , so when tow truck jerked it , it tore up the ridges in the monocoque the blend into the belly pan. Pictures to follow.

excuse my ignroance but the intercooler is buried in the body in front of the left rear tire and get's its air from the side scoop in the door correct? How is the scoop on the engine cover working as a scoop for the intercooler??

    Re: Factory Consulier/Mosler RACE cars

The race cars have a different set up. The innercooler is inside that side scoop on the engine cover. ( its significantly bigger than the stock ones.
The endurance cars also had plumbing to suck air from the back side of the innercooler.
Drivers side scoop behind the door is air intake.
Passenger side scoop is the oil cooler.

Stock versions have innercooler on drivers side scoop , a/c and oil cooler on passenger side and the air box is in the engine bay.

More body repairs - as noted above rear tow hook was not mounted to any metal. So a yank by a tow truck wrecked some havoc

Bumper was also damaged. The center license plate was cut out to run the lines cooling the turbo

Could you use the hole in the bumper to run the tow loop all the way to the engine subframe? Do you have any pics of the hose routing for the turbo air cooling?

Good call on the tow point!
Here is one picture of the hammerhead engine bay.
Will post more when i find them.

Also got the bumper repair started , replaced the foam where broken and bonded it back together. The picture is with one side still to be repaired

The rear end repairs are coming along

And got the second gauge pod together, including a driver adjustable bias controller

( cant get that picture right. It should have the gauges vertically)

Matt deserves a shout out! And a thank you. The tow hook thru license plate area to sub frame is perfect.

Just helping out if I can. I've gotten so much help from everyone and I've got some experience with coming up with solutions to problems that shouldn't exist LOL
I do see one issue with that though. If it wasn't supported against a lateral pull, it'd cause some damage too. Might have to triangulate out to the side somehow, but that's an easier issue than trying to sure up the fiberglass enough to support a yank.

Finishing up the rear end of the car. As stated in previous posts, it had some contact with a wall, and then the tow truck seriously tweaked it as well.
Radiator cover did not fit well , so we re- did it as well.

    Re: Factory Consulier/Mosler RACE cars

Was at Sebring this weekend. Via a friend - found another Consulier.

Was sold as a track car from new , full cage etc. Dont think Johnny has this one on his site.

Great paint scheme, I think it improves the lines of the car.

Owner is a member here, but dont think he has posted pictures.

We are going to take a trip up to Rossion together this upcoming week.

That's the inverse of the color scheme I'm looking to do. I'm doing green w/ black top. Car looks great.
