It would, of course they warn that it's not intended to be a parking brake. It would hold pressure till you hit the pedal again (or something fails).

They say not as a emergency brake. Parking is different.

LOL, I'm not going to be the one to argue that in court

Of course they do call it a Park Loc in the instructions.....

Park Loc is what I want it for.....
Then I can get rid of the Fiero brakes and use the same as I have on the front.

While dicking around with the blue car , progress being made on race car.
Fuel cell , bladder and foam removed
Bearings pulled, new ones going in
Knuckles bead blasted , wheel hub assemblies arrived , were ---- Chinese ones. Sent back , waiting on some new American made ones

Engine bay totally stripped , subframe at powder coater.

Ball joints ,tie rods pulled, tie rods need to have longer threaded shafts fabricated.

Next step will be suspension, and get the Wildwoods installed.

This is the area behind the fuel cell. Note pump and braided lines.

Boring answer...it was sitting on top of fuel cell when I pulled it out. So it goes nowhere, but perhaps into the trash.

Prior to getting blasted and powder coated.

Subframe needed some minor repairs - all the nut-serts that hold on the belly pans had been snapped off.

    Re: Factory Consulier/Mosler RACE cars

I'm drooling over that removable drivers side lower cross member....would make taking the trans out of the car possible without pulling the engine. Would have been nice to have when I did my clutch. I had thought of making a modification like that, but decided against it for originality's sake, but seeing as yours has it, I'm rethinking that.

I'm guessing the belly pan has cutout slots for the round mating plates.?

    * For those not familiar with the car, we're looking at the bottom of the subframe, passenger side is on the right of the pic.
Front motor mount is at the bottom of the pic and the bobble strut tabs are at the top

That's 100% correct. I saw 2 of the cars with that removable brace made out of aluminum also.
And this car didn't have any belly pans when we got it ( it had some broken remnants) , but that's what we did.
We did a mold off the blue car belly pans and did some modifications.
There are pictures of them somewhere on this thread.

It's a surge tank. It is designed to keep car from ever having fuel starvation.
Fuel cell also had foam in it. I imagine that they either had issues due to high g-forces, or were just trying to prevent starvation.

The tank holds +/- a liter of fuel.

In the blue car with under 1/2 tank I get starvation at the track and even on high speed mountain passes.

Work continues - front end going back together. The correct knuckles made the Wilwood brake install a snap.

New tie rods and ball joints all the way around. Tie rods continue to be a pain as they are modified Daytona ones. The need the shaft extended , and the threads cut.

Waiting for the qa1 double adjustable shocks , and we have a bunch of different spring rates. Will start with 450 front ,550 rear.

Rear subframe back in. This car does not have bushings , it has sealed bearings. New ones installed.
Shocks I ordered were not the right length. The mounting points are different then the street cars.
It will also need 8" springs as opposed to 10". The longer ones won't allow any adjustments on the coil overs.

Biggest bummer so far - the Revolution 3 piece wheels I restored will not clear the new brakes ! Sh-t!!
I test fitted on the blue car but did not have the barrels bolted together. The inner barrel is too narrow.

Car was set up with 325lb front and 450lb rear springs. Will stick with that for now.

Replacing fuel cell as the bladders are NLA , will still have the original aluminum box around it. It will also have an internal Bosch fuel pump, built in fuel gauge sender and not require the surge tank. But is very pricey.

What's different about the shock mounting points? I thought they were simply in another position for better suspension geometry in the lowered state?

The early and late cars had them in different locations.

    Re: Factory Consulier/Mosler RACE cars

You are both right , the race car has multiple shock mounting points all of which are at a more horizontal angle then either the blue series 2 or the red series 1 I had before.

Pictures to follow. I am waiting on the correct shocks to arrive.
