    K1 H beam rods

    http://moddiction.com/k1_technologie.../i-587249.aspx

Anyone know anything about these rods?
I read that K1 products are made by Wiseco.
Weight is 606 grams each. 99 grams lighter than a TII rod.

I think Chris brought them to market first? Either way I know of several people who have used them.

When it comes to K1 connecting rods, many companys advertise their products but they don't actually have them stock. K1 discontinued this model last year and we have the last three sets remaining on our shelf.

If you don't already have the forged pistons you can save money by requesting our Wiseco versions with the .866 pins then ordering our SRT-4 K1 connecting rods for $350. That price is exclusive for Turbo-Mopar members and these were discontinued also by K1. We have a few sets remaining on our shelf as well.

The only difference between the 2.2/2.5 rod and the srt4 is the pin size?

No, the bearing tang is different as well. You need to use an srt-4 bearing. We do sell the brian crower hbeams that have the 901 or 912 pin size with the 2.2/2.5 bearing set-up and they weigh about 600 grams each. Also be aware that the K1's listed on the K1 site were 5.972 in length where as the srt and 2.2/2.5 are 5.945 in length. .027 difference in length can be an issue.....
so if the K1's don't work out for you, there are alternatives

Is Brian Crower in it for the long haul? I have seen that they are actually making new parts for 3000gt's when it would seem the market is long gone for development. I think one concern about the BC rods on 6g72's was the narrow small end but I don't know if these motors even have pin bending issues. I hope there are some rods available for whatever forged pistons end up being inside the 2.2/2.5 motor I have.

Yes, they seem to be in it for the long haul as far as being in business. The 2.2/2.5 rods are custom made for us, and as long as we keep doing runs of them, they will keep making them.

    Re: K1 H beam rods

IIRC, the first batch of K1 rods were too long by .027ths. I think you could identify those easily by their part # (5972 rings a bell). I believe they got this corrected later on. Chris could say for sure. I also have seen a 5.972" figure on late LW Chrysler rods. Haven't personally measured the rods, but did run into that figure in publications. That is probably how they got made incorrectly in the first place.
In the BC rods for SRT's alone, they offer three different H-beam rods. 3/8" ARP2000, 625+, and bigger beam yet H-beam with 7/16" rod bolts. Either Crower or BC also offers I beam rod as well. Lots of choices now. Wished they were available 10+ years ago.
