Need some info about '87 electronics in an '85 GLH

I'm a total n00b when it comes to this kinda stuff and some of the older posts about it were confusing, so I figured I'd ask pertaining to my particular setup...

My setup is essentially a bone stock '87 T2 engine/555 trans in an '85 GLH. I want to be able to run an external MAP sensor so I can upgrade to a 3 bar later. Do I have to get the '87 LM? Do I have to rewire anything? This car is only going to be a track/weekend street car with the barest of interiors...the dash is already gone and the heater core will be next. I just want to be able to run custom cals...what do I have to do?

    Thanks!

You'll need to run two extra wires for the later AIS. You'll also need to run two wires for the under hood MAP and also splice into the sensor signal ground. That's it as far as new stuff. You will need to move a couple of pins from one connector to the other. You should get an 87 LM as they call can run a TII cal. That will enable you to roll your own cals.

if you want to run a 3 bar map then you have to upgrade to 87 electronics as I'm pretty sure there is no 3 bar cals for the earlier ECU's. You'd also want to have the injectors fire correctly for the intake manifold you're using.

I have a largely untested GLHS Turbonator cal that can be built for 3bar, if you feel like testing and participating in development...

I would love to test and participate, but I don't know how long it will be until the car is in running condition. The engine is sitting on the floor at the moment and it's way too cold to do anything as yet.
