Is this speculation or can the t5 be used?

The early bell sure mounting flange to the transmissions sure does look similar to a T5.
It would be nice to have another trans option
Sorry for it taking so long to get this info. I dew a quick picture of the measurements. My calipers were not large enough so I used a tape measure so it is possible they could be off very slightly. The measurements are from center of the bolt hole to center of the next bolt hole. The red lines is the placement of the center hole to the center of the mount holes. I have been very busy and can get more info. I just wanted to get something together. For some reason no matter how I try to upload the picture I cannot get it any larger. You can zoom in to view. The measurements are from center of top left hole to center of right 7.5" top left to bottom left 7.5" ( note bottom left is in from the top) The bottom left to bottom right 5 3/4" Top right to bottom right 7 7/8". The center hole is 5 3/4". The space from the top of the center hole to the center of the top mount holes is 1/2" and the space between the center hole and center of bottom holes is 2 3/4". Hope this helps.

Here's the drawing of the T5 mounting pattern. It looks like they definitely would not line up but I don't see why the bellhousing couldn't just be re-drilled to accept the new transmission. Does anyone know what the stock input shaft length is?
A little tig work to build up the recesses and you could easily drill that out.
Also there are 5.125 diameter bearing retainers out there but a smaller one could be made to work easily with a centering ring.

Yep now all we need is a guinea pig...
Good information. Now does anybody have a photo of the 2.5 bellhousing bolted up to the 2.4 showing the mods of the lonely bolt hole?
If no one gets the input shaft length, I can get it by the end of the week. The transmission is at a different garage.

Cool. Another question is I've never seen a t5/tremec use a hydraulic clutch all I've seen are the cable/fork arrangement. Is that a problem using the dak bell with the hydraulic setup?

I originally purchased this transmission years ago to come up with a way to adapt a 2.5 to a 3 speed RWD ( C4, 904, TH350...) auto trans. After playing around with different options as well as using a T5 or other manual my conclusion was it would be best to make an adapter plate and a crank spacer. The amount of time required to modify the bellhousing vs making an adapter, I felt the adapter would work better and then it can be easily duplicated. A few years ago I used an adapter to adapt a cummins to a Ford ZF. In that case since it replaced the dodge adapter no crank spacer was needed, but honestly by the time you find the limited number of 2.5 bellhousings still left out there especially the later ones with the foreign trans, it might be a good option. Wonder if anyone on the forum is good at autocad. With the exact measurements of both bellhousings and the measurements to the center of the input shaft, I really can’t see this difficult to do.

I am all about an atx adapter but budget wise if it's just a redrill on stock parts hard to not use the mtx
You need the input shaft length on the 2.5 dakota bell? I can get it. It probably wont be the most exact measure but i can get a close measure for you.I thought i had a 2.3 t5 bell waying aroubd somewhere. Buddy threw one from a ranger into his mustang when his wc t5 blew up.And i couldnt see an issue using the hydro clutch setup from the 2.5 bell. You can always use the t5 throwout bearing, since it still uses a clutch arm and not an internal slave cyl like the ranger t5.
