Just a curiosity, I don't have the motor together and may not even bother degreeing the cams. Just wondering what the advantage would be to have adjustable sprockets if you could just dial it in with offset keys one time.
Adjustable gears make it easier to dial them in as well as easier to change things on the fly without having to take the timing belt off. They are also lighter.
Project is moving full speed! Got the motor back and installed the oil pump, pickup, welded in a windage tray, put the pan on and painted the block. Made a spacer for the masi tensioner and tig welded it on. Still looking for a non common block water pump housing as I broke the ear off mine for the alternator. Set the garage up for paint and started blocking the entire car and filling a million dents. Stripped the ground effects of stripes and I'm going to texture them and spray those satin black. Probably spray the window jambs and engine compartment at home as well with a 2 part spray bomb with catalyst for the satin black. I'm going to high build prime it at home and block it before taking it up to the shop for a downdraft booth black paint job. Still in the idea phase but I'm going to try an aluminum 3" exhaust from the mid mounted muffler to the tail.
Joe for the paint, you could use SEM's Hot Rod Black paint for the satin finish. It leaves a sheen finish in the right light, not too flat, definitely not gloss. Project looks great, btw.

I use Hot Rod black primer too, much less overspray problems.
Thanks

There is no logical reason to call an Engine a motor.

Probably listed in the thread but did you do body and paint work yourself?
That's not a restoration...there's no orange peel or clear coat flaking off!!
Did all the body work in my garage then took it up to a shop for the primer and top coat. The car was rough, looked like hail damage on the roof and every panel had dents in it, I didn't have much experience before this but I could probably make a gravel road into a mirror now..... It took two of us 72 hours in five weeks before it was ready for primer It's single stage BASF black. I'm lucky I have my father in law that paints for a living that guided me during the body work phase and sprayed the final coat in a booth. I'm going to wet sand and buff it when it's together in case I scratch it up during assembly. Here are a couple more pics. I dropped the k frame to take it apart, sand blast, weld / reinforce, rebuild and paint.
Some how tire rack managed to take my order at 3:30pm yesterday, mount and balance my tires, package and ups ship them from out of state to arrive at my door the next day at 5:30pm..... I've managed to lose .4 lbs while going from a 13" 165 wheel to a 15" 205 wheel! Advanti storm s1, 15x7, with 205 Toyo Proxes, rims are only 10lbs! They used a flow form process that's similar to forging making them lighter and stranger than cast.
Interesting that your staying 4 lug. What are you planning on doing for brakes?

just a vented caravan disc to start
Adapted a viper fuel filter up front, used a hot water steam boiler bleed for the thermostat housing and put together a tacky shifter using the original trim and a 568 shifter.
Is it running yet
