Found a car with a blown head gasket. I'm afraid the head could be screwed up. Its out of state and still on the car. Wondering what I should offer. Again this is a used factory head, intake, exhaust and I'm assuming water neck, valve cover / gasket. Just the top of the motor, not the whole car.

I did find my masi engine dirt cheap. But it was a one in a million. I was searching cl for 'lebaron' and a listing had just been posted with a picture. The number and address in the ad was to a nearby pick and pull and they were closed. I was there before they opened and had a deal worked out. To make it even better. Someone who knew exactly what it was had pulled everything. Tranny, axles, brakes, wiring harness you name it. Even had both the soft and hard tops all on a couple pallets. He had them set it aside and never returned to pick it up.

Let's just say I was Lucky, and the engine owes me nothing.

Red/Ginger TC in a garage in Colorado Springs? If so I considered that one a few years ago. Lady's boyfriend bought it for her,she just wanted enough out of it to 'buy A Harley'...

Well, I have another question for you t3 masi head guys. I bought 72# injectors from fwd and now find that they are pencil spray pattern that is not recommended for a split intake 4 valve head. Anybody dig into this or note that this intake should have a split stream pattern?

    Re: 1989 Horizon Masi project

If you have the rest of the Masi specific parts to make the head work, then it's worth it to get any of these heads...especially if it's complete. Damage can be fixed, although at an expense. However, for the price of fixing one of these heads vs. finding another one...I'd go for getting one that needs repair for a spare. $1000 shipped is a screaming deal if the head is complete. I wish I had the $...I'd jump all over it.

    Re: 1989 Horizon Masi project

Progress is slow due to weather but I have the air to water intercooler sorta in place, blow off welded, welded intake elbow on and sent the sbec to boostbutton. Working on the throttle body flange tomorrow on the lathe and should have that welded on tomorrow evening. Installed the walbro in the tank, trans should be done by Jackson next week to be shipped back to me and welded the wastegate flange v-band to the collector. Should I make a heat shield for the turbo on the firewall or source an OEM one?

    Re: 1989 Horizon Masi project

The turbo came in and I started on the manifold. The turbo is bad to the bone! Billet center section that doesn't require water cooling with ceramic ball bearings and billet wheel. This is the first time I've made an exhaust manifold and it's way harder than I thought working with that heavy stainless tube. I saved the hardest for last which is ovaling the ends to fit the flange, wish me luck...

Just curious the mazi head I put together for Marc Young's GLH had a flat combustion chamber. Is this one modified or is it just a later production piece

I think the pic makes it look more curved than it is, but it'd be sweet if you had some pics of Marc Youngs head to compare too.
