Putting a 89 cb into an 86 Omni

I am planning on doing this sometime in the future and was hoping to get
some advice.

What will I need to do electronically?

If i need a new harness which one and how to adapt it into the omni?

What else needs to be done?

If I were you I could convert to 87' TII electronics and do my own custom cals. I think it would get you a lot more versatility with much less overall work than trying to swap electronics entirly.

You can head over to my website for a how to regarding custom cals for the LMs. The FAQ on this site will cover converting to 87 TII electronics from 86'. It is about as easy as it gets, and cheaper too.

I was looking on your site on how to convert to 87 TII electronics but I could not find it. Could you possibly post a link for it. I would really appreciate it.


Also I have the head off my original GLH and the one from the cb, which one do you think would be the best?

If it's an 86 I believe that would make them both 782 (swirl) heads. Someone might correct me on this because I'm not 100% sure, but I think the CB heads had a couple more coolant and oil returns in them over the one in your 86.
