    Re: Low boost pressure

Last post here before I move on. Met back up with the previous owner today at his dads house and cut out the junk cat and welded in a straight pipe in it's place. You could barely see any hint of light through the cat and there was visible blockage of the honeycomb at both ends. This thing revs so smooth now and the boost comes on smooth as well. This car is a blast to drive now. Peaks out at just over 10psi as per the stock boost gauge and in third gear from about 35mph will push you back into the seat. Will be making the 380 mile trip to Fallon, NV tomorrow so will get to see what it gets for highway gas mileage now with an open exhaust. So far even with a lot of playing I can tell it's getting better gas mileage just by the amount of fuel I've used since I filled the tank this morning. over 100 miles on the tank and still about 1/2 full, where as before was doing good to get 100 mile before I hit a half tank.

Mine averages right around 30mpg all highway, and I've had a best of 34.5.

Also replaced the completely shot stock bobble strut that was on the car. Kind of did my own thing that didn't involve cutting or drilling anything. Used an adjustable turnbuckle and a bolt with some sway bar endlink bushings.

Removed the bushing out of the stock bobble strut to put through the eyelet on end of turnbuckle.

Finally got a pic of mine up on the net.

Looks cheap as hell and is, but no one ever see's it and it works great.

I was going to do that and had most of the parts in my hands when I saw the turnbuckle. When all was said and done comparing prices for what I had to buy for both options it was cheaper doing the turnbuckle and didn't involve cutting or drilling.
