I Needed a new kidmover, it's been a great 8 years with T-Regasaurus (the V10 twin turbo Taureg) but it's in the shop-again for another fron propshaft(driveshaft), persistant hard starting, a coolant leak, and a diesel leak. I have 900 miles left on the extended warranty that has paid out $27,XXX. BEFORE this last visit and I am not gonna own T-Reg without a warranty.
I researched all the 'third row seating' options by the big four (no,Minivans weren't on the list, I'm happy with Woody and Whiteout for those duties) and even though I almost hated to admit it, the 2014 Explorer Sport with the 3.6 V6 Twin Turbo EcoBoost came out on top in almost every comparo. It's my first Ford. Ever. I ordered it in Ingot Silver with heated and AC seats, towing package, some kinda 401 group package that has the Sync/Nav/entertainment and a buncha other stuff I don't know how to use and the 12 speaker 390W stereo. $47K that I'll be paying $789/month on for a while But I gotta have something nice to take the Doc's, corporate guys, and chicks I'm trying to impress around in. Except for that super cool chick that some of you met at SDAC last year, driving a 25 year old Woody Mini does *Not* get you laid
First driving impressions after adding a bottle of Z Max and adjusting the tire pressures is.... Underwhelming This thing is so heavy that even 365 HP cant make it feel quick. Guys are running 14.90's in them stock but it soure doesn't feel that quick So CAI, exhaust and a reflash are on the short list of needed mods, if I cant get another 50+HP outta this thing it's not gonna be a long satisfying relationship like T-Reg was. Meet "Quicksilver"...
EDIT: Wow, sux that the title can't be edited, yes I know how to spell 'twin' no, I can't type for sh!t
