    275 on L body

In my quest for more traction in autocross I have been toying with the idea of running some 275/35/15 Hoosiers on the front only.
I was going to get some custom diamond racing wheels 15x10 with a -12 offset.
Besides some fender cutting what other issues will I have?
The car will have koni coilovers also.

The only two things I would wonder would be suspension travel and clearing the tranny case. I'm sure with that offset, it will not hit the cover, but you never know. I have some 15x8 rims on that SCCA car I purchased and I know they rub a tad, but I have no idea what offset the wheels are or true width of the tires on it. Obviously with the coil overs you wouldn't have to worry about travel if it's set correctly, but that's all I could think of to be concerned about.

That's going from one extreme to the other isn't it? A 205 width tire can get an Omni on two wheels...

Well, if one tire has traction and the other doesn't it will pull like crazy. Putting more, or most of the tire outside the steering axis rather than split evenly around it will mean it has more leverage to steer the car if you lock up one tire under braking or spin one tire under acceleration. I've never done it so i cant say to what degree that will be a problem or just a factoid. If you experience anything like that definitely come back and let us know.

I have a couple 8" wide Revolutions that I'd sell.

They are light, about 13 pounds each. Made in England. Made for race or street.
8 inch wide, 9 inch rim edge to rim edge.
5 inch rim edge to mounting surface.
So that makes it .5 off set i think.

I have something like this in my glhs. I works great in the autocross. A better one would be nice but his issue is more likely other things.

    Body roll?
    Sp[ring rate?
    Is it lowered?
What sway bars are you using?
    Alignment?
    Strut brace?
    K-frame brace?

Why not go to 14" wheel then so you don't have to cut them?

You can't really find any dot slicks wider than 225 for a 14" wheel.
Suspension set up will be koni coilovers springs are 400 front 300 rear.
Bigger front sway bar and boxed in rear axle. A rear sway bar is in the plans.
