1998 mile trip last week in Consulier GTP Targa

Went to see my Dad, brother and sister. AND to go to the Fall Fling car show in Woodley Park.
Trip down was on I-5, took 14-1/2 hours counting all stops for gas and food.
Trip back was up highway 101 near the coast. This took almost 2 days....one night in a motel.

The car ran perfect with no issues at all. Got 29 mpg from here to the valley. Then on I-5
after that I got 34 mpg. (that is while doing average speeds around 80 mph)
I did not check it coming back. Car has a small oil drip, left a couple
small puddles on my brother's and dad's driveway. But the dipstick showed not much oil
    lose for the trip.
Had the soft top on for the trip down as it was drizzling when I left and got blazing hot
in the valley so I left it on for sun protection.
Took it off when I got there and only put it back on after SanFrancisco on the way back as
it was getting really cold. Good thing, as right before Eureka it poured down rain for 30 minutes.
But was nice the next morning, I did stay the night in Eureka.

Thought I would share photos of the trip and car show.

I have a feeling that the 29 was due to scuffing the tires going around curves?

No photos on the way down, pretty boring drive on I-5.
On the way back went through Oakland to see a friend then over the bridge to San Francisco.
Through surface streets then over the Golden Gate Bridge. Was really windy!!

The passenger keeping me company on the way back is a spare 555 trans.

    Car show.
Took many photos, but only showing a few here. These are mostly all the non-FWD cars that I thought were cool.

I'll post a video of the FWD cars.

Sure! Don't need to slow down for curves in this car.

While in Southern Calif, my nephew Jonathan and I met up at Steve's place to see his Consulier.
He had invited a bunch of others and then we headed to the Coyote Grill for dinner.

On the way back to my brother's I had Jonathan be the navigator. He took us through Laguna Beach and through some hills back to La Habra. Had fun!!

While the Consulier is in a class all its own - It's amazing to see so many K-car variants in one location.

    Its all very cool !!

Ditto, out representing and putting miles under your belt. Car sounds just as mean in person as in video, I'm going to have to replicate your pipe!

I thought it was pretty funny that the Valet's at Coyote grill wanted nothing to do with parking the Barbie car What'd he say, something like, "You ARE gonna park that thing yourself right?"
