That may be a good idea too.
Would this one work?

You should've looked to your Australian friends for the answer.

this is the video that my buddy posted that gave him the idea and the same steamer that he bought for 25$ at walmart.

I'll try that too. Thanks for the tip.
Sorry for chiming in here so late. Also sorry I wasn't there when you came to pick up the car, Alan and my other friends failed to inform me until weeks after the event.
The plug on the emiro computer is for the dual cal switch box that should still be behind the cup holder bin. It is a black box with a big red toggle switch. That is strange about the battery tray because I put a new battery in the car just before it was sold and it didn't look anything like your picture. If it had I would have replaced it with one of the many I have laying around.
I bet that tint is a real pain to get off, it has been on there since 1991. I bet parts of it have fused to the glass baking in the CA sun.
Will shot you a PM with my cell phone number so you can call with any other questions you may have about the car.
Thanks for chiming in Pat. I'll definitely give you a buzz soon.
Today we took the CSX out for the annual Christmas Town Parade. There hasn't been any snow etc. yet so there is no salt down. That will probably change in the next couple of days. Either way, it was the CSX's last trip out for the year.
While we were waiting to go I snapped a couple of pics in the car.
I got back to the house and did a tiny amount of work on the car. New wipers were in order.
Then I looked at the BOV since it seemed to open slightly too late generally. There were a couple of tokens in there so I took one of them out and we'll see how that does. I'll have to think about a new one in general. This one seems like the design itself would need more spring than most of the designs out there today which look like they would flow better.
I was able to keep warm with my new propane heaters and I have a new jack which will actually reach under the car too. Life is good these days.

Wow, I can't believe I haven't updated this thread in so long.
Since the last update I have removed all the tint of the rear window. Destroyed the rear window, installed a new one at SDAC, and put a huge dent in the front fender on the driver's side. Lesson here is to not wait until right before SDAC to get everything ready. Not a problem this year for sure!
Brian,
Please contact me regarding a full VNT kit that I had put together for someone else but will ultimately benefit you.
It includes:
NOS airbox
NOS VNT turbo
NOS bypass valve and related hardware
NOS lower turbo tube and hoses
NOS upper hose
14psi cal using prototype software
This will allow you to discard the aftermarket stuff while having a complete kit to accomplish a very reliable/streetable system that can yield 13.6-13.8 ET's at 101mph.
Send me a PM - we'll take care of you and I'll throw in a few extra's for ya to insure this runs top notch.
OK, just returning from SDAC and I realized that I haven't updated this thread in some time.
I now have a hybrid turbo on the car as I could not control the boost with the VNT. I plan to some day return to VNT powered status, but I'm not immediately sure when that will be. I have also upgrade the control arm bushings to poly units along with later knuckles and big brakes. I threw in the BC struts while I was at it. With the addition of the RPF1s and 225/45r16 Toyo R1R tires it handles really well.
At SDAC I competed in the autocross, car show, and road rally. We then went to Carlisle and I did the autocross there too. I thought it did really well for my first and second time autocrossing. There is clearly more car than driver in the equation.
I hope to have some pics up soon and I'll include ones of the CSX in here.
I call BS!! We all know odo gears don't last that long! Photo-chop!!![]()

I'm not sure if it's the original set of gears in there. This is the only car I've had with a working set in a long time with the exception of my newyorker. I make sure to reset the trip ODO only when I'm stopped. I've read that resetting it while driving is what strips them out.
Yup, I've had 2 of them do it when hitting the reset.
Rotated the tires tonight in anticipation of an autocross tomorrow.
Good luck! Get some photos and maybe a video or two?

Unfortunately the trip today was a bit ill fated. I drove to the wrong college so by the time I got home and figured that out I was going to be too late to get in. I spent the day working on cars and cleaning the house instead. It was still a nice day for a drive and the car ran well so I can't complain too much.
