I autocrossed the car on Sunday and Monday. I had a great time both days. On Sunday I actually managed to win my class. A guy with a Porsche Boxter S was also in the class, but he took off early so I won by default! In your face Porsche!

Thank you kind sir. I hope to be out again in a couple of weeks. It is going to be at a location which is a bit more wide open so the course should be faster. I think the torque of the 2.2 will help get me out of the turns a bit better if I do my part. I think the second day this weekend I did much better because the course wasn't quite as technical and tight.
No autocrossing since the last post about it. The car will start off this year with 222,781 miles. I have reinstalled my summer wheels and tires along with a fresh oil change. I'm using a 5.0 oil filter on one of these cars for the first time. It was the same price as a standard filter and it's way larger. I don't know why I didn't do this long ago. Hopefully I can get the car out of the garage soon. It's been raining a ton lately.
Hey, Professional-driver-to-Cali guy, are you sure its not 322K? I worked on your car a fair amount back in the day(I've known it since it was new actually) I sure thought when Pat P. put in his first N.E. cal like 15 years ago(lots of timing, stock pistons didn't last long after that) it had like 200 or 205 on it back then. I suppose it's possible it only picked up 22K miles in 15 years. Pat had a couple kids by then and it saw less use and more garage time.

223,000 on the clock now so I went shooting today. Moates replaced my 3 year old chip burner which had failed for FREE. I burned a new chip and took out a lot of fuel since it was way rich where it was. No more mystery knock and running at about 11.9:1 up to about 15PSI. I'll add a bit more fuel and call it a day there. I will probably start advancing timing a bit too. Especially in vac for gas mileage.
Installed a chip extender today. No more pulling the SBEC in order to swap a chip during the tuning phase. I'm looking forward to running up and down the road with my brakes glowing in the moonlight.
How romantic!brakes glowing in the moonlight.
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
I was going thru some old albums Mr romance and found a couple pics of your car from the early 90's. BTW the Red GLHS won this race by about a football field

Awesome! Thanks for the picture.
Alright. I'm finally getting on with this. Nearly three years ago I had a fire in the car caused by a failed FP regulator fitting. I've been a wreck about what to do with it and I haven't been able to make a decision because the whole situation sickens me. Today I pulled the car out from the side of the garage after moving the Joytona outside. I've removed most of the interior so far and I'm going to start on the dash now.
I have most of what I need to make the car at least functional again. I need to find someone I trust to shoot the engine bay, fender, and right side door/ gfx. I'll have the left side fender replaced at the same time. Who knows, perhaps I'll get crazy and let this be my first paint project on one of my cars? At this point I just want it on the road so I can decide to fix it or do what needs to be done to get some space in the garage.
I look forward to the progress when I get there on the 22nd of June.

That is almost exactly where my Shadow developed its firewall crack.

Interesting perhaps it was there and allowed the flames to do the damage. I took some pics of the inside of the car tonight. The insulation was pretty scorched going back onto the passenger side foot well. How did you repair your crack?Attachment 64115
I stop drilled the end I could access without tearing anything apart and caulked it with grey rtv. The proper fix will require the dash board and heater/ac box to come out to come out at the minimum.
