    Chasing the record

Went to the grove today and put down some nice numbers even though I was fighting with my transmission all day. I have a horrible flare from 2nd to 3rd that was causing me to have to lift, wait for the shift, then get back into it. Even with that issue, my van still had a fun day.

Started off with taking the van off the trailer and setting a "motor only" record of 12.68@103. Later in the day I went 12.64 at 104 on motor, but that was by accident.

Then I figured it was time to see what the nitrous kit would do. My first nitrous pass produced and nice time of 12.21@110 while spinning out of the hole with a 1.95 60ft.

4th run was when I forgot to arm my nitrous but with timing pulled, still managed to get a 12.64 @104

5th run was hot lapped (upset about not flipping a switch). I managed to pull a 12.12@111 with a 1.90 60ft. The trans dropped out at the end and I coated the last 20 feet or so of the run.

So as most people would think, "I'm having trans problems I should go home and fix it" luckily I'm not most people, I think "Gee, lets put a bigger nitrous jet in and see what happens"

So with the largest shot I've ever run on the van I prepared for my run. I did my best John Forrest impersonation made sure my nitrous was armed and let her rip.
    11.96@111mph with a 1.78 foot

During this week I'm going to try and get my transmission squared away and head out to the track next weekend. I still some bigger pills I can through in there, so we'll see.

Yeah I posted it on YouTube last night, but I don't know how to post a link to YouTube from my phone. Once I get home I'll post links to all my races. Or you can search YouTube for joeduno, joeduno1, or even turbo caravan should pull them up.

    Re: Chasing the record

Thanks Brad for posting those links. If anyone else is searching and sees a video please post it. There were a ton of cameras on either me or the EVO, either way they should have recorded the race, and hopefully it would be clear. Otherwise I guess we'll just have to assume that JT wasn't just yelling out a number.....Come to think about it, that might not be a bad idea...HUMMM

Great job on the 11MF9...and to think, it was only about a year ago when you were looking for a 12MF9 at Monster Mopar.

Here is a link to another video of the 11 second run. You can see the van just pulling away from the EVO.....although I did tree him pretty good.
