I agree its way cooler having the 'period correct' motor in this. I just re-read wiki and it says he built two T3 cars back in the day? Maybe they got cannibalized for the V8 cars? Or wtf happened to them??

Just talked to a longtime friend of Steve's and he is only aware of one Shelby 16 valve Consulier ever being built. It now belongs to Warren's daughter.

If thats the case im not sure who owns the neon 16 valve car.

I sent an email to Steve asking if he wouldnt mind if i asked him a few questions about these cars.

I will shoot him an email and see if the neon motor rumor is accurate.
Im a hardcore turbo guy, IMO everything needs to be boosted lol. But one of these with a built NA DOHC 2.0 probably would have been a lot of fun.

While it's out you might check the rear shocks. If they are as bad as mine, send them out for rebuild.

So apparently common blocks just wont drop in. Good thing Slowe Racing can modify and customize just about anything on a car.

That's not a problem. I'll relieve you with that small headache. I'll tell Brian that it's ok when I put that engine on the trailer.

I want to build a 2.5 someday for a future install, so YOU should check to be sure.

It would look pretty good in that Silver GLHT of yours.

It's gonna take a lot more than a TIII to win at the auto cross next year. Better bring your A+ game my friend.

Do you know if they just dropped their engine in?

In our case we need to notch the oil pan.

Is that anyway to speak to the defending autox champion?

I always bring it. In fact next year I hope to bring it twice. Hopefully Jules and Franksnstein with both make an appearance.
