But the underside of the car is flat.

And that makes sense...but how does a splitter help?

splitter helps because when the air hits the front it wants to go 4 ways, over the top, around the 2 sides and down under the car, if you force it to go over the top the air pushes down on the splitter and creates high pressure there, just like at the base of your windshield. Also by not having any air under the car you create vacuum under the car,
I know it will help I just don't know how much.
Also I will be raising the rear coilovers to lower the front of the car a little.
And lastly I will be installing 550's on the front.
The car takes just a little too long to set for a turn that I would like
Splitters are usually adjustable. So if it's not working well enough or too much the angle of attack can be changed. The amount the front of it sticks out also has an impact on its effectiveness.
Oky, lets make one. I want one also.

Just lowering the car for track use would help somewhat.

The front of the splitter is connected to the car with adjustable rods. By pulling up or pushing down on the front of the splitter with the adjustable rods you can adjust how well the splitter works.
I did not bring up skirts as I don't think they are easily installed or taken off without outside attachment points that will be seen while street driving. However, they are a great idea and would certainly help not only downforce, but overall stability.
I guess i could drill a braket into the face of my bumper and install the vertical threaded rod there to mount to the splitter.
The reason the air is moving slower under the car/wing is because there is more air, so if you limit the amount of air going under the car with a splitter, the air speeds up and will be moving faster than the air over the top, reversing the effects of lift.
Yes this we know ^^
