Brought home my 3rd Tubo van

Puchased it off Bardo here in the forsale forums. For those who didnt think of buying it you really missed out.It is the cleanest rust free turbo van I have seen in a long time. Thanks to Chris for bringing it home for me and the help fixing some wiring.Still didnt get it to run for more than a few seconds.Washed it when I got it home and I think the wife actually digs it even though she wont admit it.She did a awesome job of cleaning the interior. The paint on the drivers side should be able to buff out.But right now need to get it running ad go through it.

Gonna give Johnny Spiva a run for his money in the 'most turbo Mini's owned' catagory eh?? I never really cared for the 'Medium Suede' color til I saw it on Berubi's Mini @ SDAC this year. Great looking interior as well

I think it lookd better in your pics than the for sale pics.
That is nice. And it looks likr you have the same interior option as jonnyb. Single big middle seat.
    That's a good sleeper-van color...

Re: Brought home my 3rd Tubo van

The plan for this week is start with the basics, check base fuel pressure, change fuel filter,we changed the plugs Sunday, change oil, and my buddy Rob is going to come out and see what he can do with the paint.I also need to pull the wheels off the subbie and see if they will fit the van,not a priority.Im afraid it may need a harness though.

The 5x100 subie wheels fits with a 10mm spacer. Or drill out the wheel center a little. Some of the sube stuffs 5x114 too.

I've been tempted to make it 3 vans a few times, got to resist until I move! Or mebbe better to make it 4, and park them rear door to side door per RW. And live inside. :P

The wheels on the subbie are actually off a VW Corrado, you can see them in back round of a few pics of van. They should fit.I only have $30 into them.

Fixed the broken window regulator yesterday, installed a stock radio from Chris.Installed the new engine harness still no beuno. Will not run for long.Changed injector harness, still no change.Found the fuel rail is cracked and leaking.Have to get a T2 rail for it now.Its really bugging me i cant figure this out, with the key on,engine off the fan relay is going nuts, unplug fan and its still clicking on/off.Same with Baro sensor.Im not sure where to go with it now.

I'd be interested to see a pic of that manifold all cut up. For reference.

Re: Brought home my 3rd Tubo van

After spending 7 hours trying to figure what was wrong with van.It now lives! After changing out cracked fuel rail for a borrowed one, back to stock injectors and reg it still wouldnt run. Thanks to my crack team of experts we figured out the problem. We went through every bit of the harness and tracked it down to the asd relay and possibly igniton switch. It wouldnt start after I messed with the tilt column so I was starting to dig in there when my buddy joel said wait a sec, lets see if we have spark.no spark. So we swapped it out the coil and it fired fired right up.Tomorrow ill put back together everything ive taken apart to chase it,hook back up power steering pump and take her down the road.Im going to run it off the stock injectors, reg and boost levels until i put some miles on it.
