I seem to recall having read an article somewhere that said there was more than one 4x4 Daytona, one of which was white.

There were a couple white Daytona's with the 16v. Here is a pic of two:

There was a good article written up about the various engines that the Whittier facility played with. I can't find the original source but here is my copy of the article:

Very cool pics! Like Joe, I wonder if my CSX is among those cars.

I've seen the Masi valve cover that says "DeTomaso" on it in person! It still exists! I also want to know more about the red Daytona with the widebody stuff.

I also have heard there were more than just 1 Daytona with AWD systems in them, and recently somebody brought to light that there were more than just 1 type of AWD system being tested, and that a Lancer was spotted at one point having the system in it.

The V6 being tested looks like it might be a 3.9L simply because the distributor is in the wrong place for it to be a 3.0 and 3.3's didn't have distributors. Also, look at the exhaust port spacing...most certainly a 3.9L.

These pictures will be saved to the hard drive when I get home!!

If someone has time, it would probably be a good idea to grab and post the pics from the forwardlook site on here too for posterity sake. They won't be there forever and I don't have time to do that at the moment.

It cracked me up when Fiat bought Chrysler, some "experts" were saying that this would help Chrysler shore up its small engine technology.
This makes it pretty obvious, that at one time Chrysler was way ahead.....and then threw it all away!!
