    Swingvalve

looking for a wide pattern swingvalve, traded my part off just to find that TU 3" valves are not available yet, so im stuck with a narrow valve my exhaust wont bolt to. Dont really care what size but let me know what you have. Thanks!

    Re: Swingvalve

What he's looking for is any '87(?)-'89 with the wider spaced bolt holes for the downpipe. I think '87 was the year they changed that, maybe it was '88.

OP, in the meantime you can use a grinder to egg the bolt holes closer together until they fit, assuming you have the 2 1/4" downpipe. I've done that in the past.

    Re: Swingvalve

i have full 3" exhaust, yes i need to replace the 2.5" swingvalve i had, i regret trading mine off only to find the 3" are not available for several months. So right now its hanging by one bolt on a narrow 2.25 valve. freakin screwed myself.

    Re: Swingvalve

88' started the wide flange 2.25'', but you'd be a lot better off with a 2.5'' of course.

    Re: Swingvalve

The 3" downpipe barely fits a 2.5" flange; I don't think it would fit a 2.25" at all.

    Re: Swingvalve

Maybe it's the older forward motion style 3'' downpipe with the 2.5'' flange at the top? Somehow he says it's bolted up.

This is a true 3'' downpipe in a 2.5'' swingvalve! Only 1/3 of the donut even fits in but it does seal.

    Re: Swingvalve

Yeah, that's how mine is on the Charger. Even with the PB front motor mount and the solid PB bobble strut, I still have to change out that donut every year or so.

    Re: Swingvalve

Cut the flange off, weld a Vband on it, weld a flex pipe to the downpipe and weld a Vband onto the downpipe.

    Problem solved.

In regard to the side note of 3" DPs in 2.5" SVs, you can hog out the 2.5" SV to darn near 3". I have made a couple of them which fit a 3" doughnut perfectly.
