24.5x8x15 slicks. Rim size?

Got some used slicks and I need to put them on some rims.
MT says 8 inch,
- I have 6 inch around will this suffice? or do I need at least 7 inch.
When I put them on do they need to be balanced? if so how with the stick on weights?

IMO, your going to need at least a 7" rim. 8" preferred. Looks like buying used rims in the wrong size wasn't such a bargain after all. Balance as you would any other tire. I have taken a 7.5"x 23" sliick and had enough traction for mid 11 second timeslips. So how quick are your goals?

13's sec would be great. Possibly 12's later.

looks like I am gonna try 6's because I have them and I could race this weekend. Looking to mount them in a few days.
Unless I can get some good info why this is a bad idea.

6's should work, you don't need weights.
