Question awd guys need help with seals

    i have a awd omni with a 2.4 motor
i have been trying to fix this tranny leak for way too long and im not
sure what seals are the right ones
the leak is coming from where the tranny and the transfer case come together
i am trying to find out what seal goes in to the tranny (or in the retainer plate/bracket or spacer)
if someone knows the name of seal or part # it would be great
also need the seal that goes around the shaft that is on the transfer case that slides in to the tranny
every thing i find dont say what seal goes where or how to do it any help would be great
i am trying to get this fix so i can go to the track for the first time

I believe I talked to you about this at SDAC. When you look up the part number at the parts store it is the same as the axle seal. In my experience they don't fit right. I destroyed 3 trying to make it fit. I ended up using my other retainer plate that still had the factory one in it. I found a seal that was similar design to the factory one, I'll try and find the part number.

There is a seal that goes in the retainer plate that the ptu shaft slides into and one on the PTU case that the shaft comes out of.

I would really like to see the parts blowup of this stuff. I have completely ignored the issue of seals for AWD parts.

Kreel snapped the bottom 2 bolt holes off the flange to adapter side of his first PTU. I still want to know some part numbers.

The PTU should fit up against the retainer plate flat without tightening the bolts. If you need to run up the bolts to bring them together, you're in a bind somewhere.

I'll see what the FSM has in there for parts info when I get a chance. It might be a while though.
