    Spirit R/T Build (4DMF)

Started my build on the Spirit about a week ago and figured I would start a build thread. I am doing all of the work and my husband is giving me guidance since he is with the TIII's. The car was from up North and has some rust issues. So instead of trying to preserve the car, I decided to see if I can make it go fast. I have been focusing on weight reduction first and have ordered some parts to get started.

    Here is the basic plan:
    weight reduction
    6262 turbo
    Ported head
    Stage 1 Cams
    custom header
    custom intake
    mega squirt
    FMIC
    Auto
    lots of boost

This is what I have taken out so far:
    A/C compressor 14.2 lbs
    A/C lines 7 lbs
    Spare tire 33 lbs
    Jack 6lbs
    Front bumper support 30 lbs
    Filler neck 1 lb
Lower part of back seat 14 lbs
    Gas tank/fuel pump 22 lbs
    Sway bar 17 lbs
    Carpet/Padding (was damp) 54.2 lbs
    Driver seat power 52 lbs
    Passenger seat 38 lbs

288.4 lbs so far...not too bad. Some weight will go back in, but will be replaced with a lot lighter stuff.

I doubt you'll have any trouble going fast with that recipe... Looks like it will be a mean build.

    Keep us updated!

I'm "the husband" so I'll try to chime in with some updates here and there. She dropped over 450lbs so far, got a 6262 on the way, and a ton of parts waiting to go on. Right now were working on bringing the turbo from behind the engine toward the front of the engine bay. Then make a center mount TB intake manifold or just switch sides completely.
