I have a pair of rear Koni shocks for sale. There are no scuffs, scratches, or rust of any kind on the piston rods. Both of the adjustment tabs turn easily. I see no reason why they couldn't be rebuilt. The shock in the foreground with the sticker starting to peel off has no pressure left, but the one in the background still has pressure and extends on its own. Asking $100 shipped to the lower 48. Canada I'll have to get a shipping quote.

Ok, I don't know why the picture is rotated like that, it's correct on Photobucket. So if you're looking and the shocks are both vertical, the weak one is the one on the left.
