External wastegate and turbine housing wastegate hole

    A little background
I am running a Grand National turbo with some sort of turbine housing The turbine outlet flange is angled in such a way that it puts the wastegate arm in between two of the intake runners. What I did was flip the arm 180* and put the actuator on the turbine side of the turbo. The problem I have run in to is the actuator is so close it's hard to get the proper tension on it, as well as there is pretty much no room to work back there.

I have decided to run an external gate. The wastegate hole in the flange I bought is .8 of an inch. I assume that's to match the turbine housing hole. The wastegate is 38mm. Should I port out the flange hole and the turbine housing hole to match the wastegate as much as possible? Or should I just leave them the stock size? I don't know if I could get the full 1.5" out of the flange, but I could open it up a little.

I wouldnt bother modifying the turbine housing or the flange unless you have reason to believe they wont flow enough. It doesnt really matter that the wastegate is larger than the hole in the turbine housing.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

Works for me, that makes install easier.

Opening the hole would make boost control more linear, it helps with boost control. If your carruns fine without boost creep, then go for it. But if it starts to creep id open it up as much as you can.

It doesn't creep at all, the wastegate just isn't tight enough to hold more than 8psi
