Friday night was test and tune with a gamblers race. I had replaced the head studs" the old ones were 10 years old" and the radiator. the radiator is a nice piece but may be too small. made two passes
10.37 and a 10.26 the car was running lean on top end so I fatten her up for the next day.
Saturday: being a week after the Mopar Nats not as many cars showed up as they were hoping but still an OK turnout. the weather was awesome and so were the cars. made two time runs. a 10.44 and a 10.36. I entered the Pro class so it was a sportsman tree and I had to have a Dial in.
Dialed in a 10.36 and the nice looking big slick Duster that I was to run dialed a 10.30 so this was going to be a very close race and it was.

    ................Me........ Duster
    reaction.. .108......... .340
    60'......... 1.694....... 1.322
    330'........ 4.499....... 4.092
    1/8ET...... 6.73......... 6.44
    MPH....... 110.70...... 103.73
    1000'ET... 8.655........ 8.515
    MPH....... 126.80...... 117.07
    1/4ET...... 10.344...... 10.294
    MPH....... 126.30....... 125.07

    .............-.0156....... -.0058
    ............Breakout...... Winner

As you can see I let up early and knocked of 10 mph but I should of stepped on the brakes. It was a very exciting race.
After my very first time run I had people coming and talking to me all day long. I'm not a big talker but learned to be that day. I love my car and all the good time it has givin me. it has surely out weighed all the frustrations.

I will not be racing Sunday as I have Family Reunion that day.

Great story Rob, bummer about the breakout, but it's inspiring to here someone talk about their car the way you do! I can totally relate to the people hanging around the car after seeing it run. Problem for me is, I AM a talker, so wind me up and it can get Dangerous! lol

Your Charger has been an inspiration to this community for a Long time now. Great to see it running Strong and to see you enjoying it so much! Keep up the good work bro!
