Question To port or not to port, that is the question! Basically stock minivan.

Going to get my wife's van done in the next couple weeks, nothing major, stock exhaust, no IC, but going TII turbo, 2 piece and a cal. I have to take the head off to fix the blown headgasket so would some minor porting be worth it as you never know down the road what will happen,

I would just put it back together. Sounds like you're getting into "if you give a mouse a cookie" territory.

Port the exhaust manifold and leave the rest.

add water/air i/c. Keep her from detonating and making you do another head gasket

I'll do that down the road, just want to do all the basics first and get her running, then play a bit later.

I'd only do port matching and clean-up. I'd definitely port match the exhaust manifold and the turbo.

If you take the valves out, a very small bit of porting and some chamber work will wake up the engine quite a bit as far as response is concerned.

That's what I am going to do.

The shitty part is, the engine has to come out, the deck got damaged and needs machining flat,

The exhaust manifold and turbo will take the longest to complete simply because they are iron. The head and intake shouldn't take more than a day for a quick clean-up.

My head guy is going to touch it up for velocity, reshape the chamber, 3 angle valve grind and that's all she writes.

I bet it'll be a different animal once you get it back together. The mid range and top end are going to really be nice! You are doing the manifolds, correct?

Not the exhaust but might put a log header on it. Intake is already sort a ported plus its a 2 piece, already miles better than the POS one piece,
