I have a whining noise that I hear upon hard boosting that I think is in the trans. It sounds like a power steering pump when its low on fluid. When it happens and I drive nice again, it will gradually go away over a minute or so. It also seems to go away or mostly go away when If I take the car out of gear. I haven't never had the trans grind or clutch slip or anything like that or any problems with the trans other than the noise. Of course the noise could be coming from another pump that just coincides with running the car hard, I don't know. The car was dynode with 350 or so at the wheels and I have a 6puck tu ceramic clutch if that makes any difference. I have regular motor oil in the trans and it was rebuilt by cliff approximately 15k miles ago. I believe the fluid is level is good. Is the noise normal? The other question I have may or may not be related to the above symptoms. I have noticed a clunk or pop sound every time I start off and slow down to stop when the momentum shifts. Almost like something is sliding a little because if I stop real easy, it will do it a little slower and softer or none at all. It's not real loud like your axles is snapping but noticeable. It has been like that for a good while and doesn't seem to be getting any worse. It sounds like it could be a mount but all checked out well. I also had an alignment shop check the other front end stuff with it on a lift and said all was tight. I don't know if it makes a difference but I have a 568/523 hybrid with obx installed that was done years ago. Last year my axle snapped and the mechanic used a caravan axle he said that was stronger and that was what fit. Anybody have any ideas? and thanks
