My SRT-4 log exhaust manifold cracked

This is not a picture of the cracked one. Just a reference picture.

It cracked between cylinders 2 and 3. I only caught it because I was diagnosing a failing fuel pump.

It's time to upgrade. A friend of mine is willing to build be a tubular header in exchange for shop time. He's a D.I.Y.er so I'd just let him borrow a bay in my shop when he needs it. But I've been searching for cast log manifolds and found a couple, actually 4. I like the idea of a cast log because of it's ability to hold in the heat. If I ceramic coat it it will be even better. Since this is a daily driver I want it to be reliable, I don't want to deal with another cracked manifold even though my friend is pretty confident in the reliability of his MIG welds. I'm also going to be getting a new turbo and going to an external wastegate.

    AGP T3 cast header:
    http://www.agpturbo.com/srt-4-agp-cast-t3-manifold/

AGP T3 twin scroll cast header. The only problem with this one is the placement of the wastegate. It might hit my fire wall:
    http://www.agpturbo.com/srt-4-agp-ca...roll-manifold/

ATP cast exhaust manifold. I don't like the split ports. I'm concerned about getting proper clamping force on the gasket:
    http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant...gory_Code=VSRT

Treadstone stainless steel cast header. I don't like the split ports on this one either.

So I'm open to suggestions on exhaust manifolds, turbos, and external wastegates.

The original agp's had issues cracking. I just took off one from a customer's car a couple of months ago. The new design should be better, I hope. I like the treadstone the best. It is a stainless cast piece, and will have no issues making 500hp with the right turbo...

That's cool but I don't want to go cheap (T-M style). My goal for my van was 13's in the 1/4 mile but since I have to upgrade my turbo (because of my manifold) if I can get a something to spool quick and nudge me into the 12's (or faster) that's the route I want to go.

The AGP and treadstone look like the same manifold to me.

The Treadstone is cast stainless and the AGP is cast iron. Other than what they're made of, they do look like the same design.

There's a big difference in turbo flange angle.
But other than that they do look very similar. I was thinking to get one at some point as an upgrade to my PT GT.
I think Mike Marra went with the Treadstone for his next evolution of The Contraption. Or was it Godspeed??... they have one also.

I just realized AGP is local to me. I'm going to call them next week. I'm considering the twin scroll manifold but am concerned about having enough room. I'm going to find out if I buy the manifold, turbo (possibly ball bearing), and external wastegate from them if they're willing to work with me if something doesn't fit. Or I can drop my van off and they can test fit and once everything is good to go I can assemble and fabricate to complete the job.

Why go TS if not using a matching turbo?

That's why Shayne built the headers out of stainless, cast likes to crack with heat and stress,

I have ATP's 3076r kit on my srt 4 and it spools quick for that size of turbo. Boost starts to come on at around 2500. I got it from MAP for $2250 shipped.

Re: My SRT-4 log exhaust manifold cracked

I went down to AGP today. With their twin scroll manifold they suggested their twin scroll Delta 46 turbo http://www.agpturbo.com/agp-delta-46-ball-bearing/ and their AGP 46 external wastegate http://www.agpturbo.com/agp-46mm-v-b...nal-wastegate/. All three items are going to run $1950. They said their SRT-4 Neon customers really like this set up.

Awesome. Did you get any pictures? Do you think you will have firewall clearance for the wastegate?

I didn't get any pictures because I didn't purchase it today. I brought my old cracked log manifold and S60 turbo because it was easier than bringing my van down. We compared and measured and it looks like it's going to fit. They said if I have problems with w.g. clearance I can weld two 20* v-band flanges together to angle the w.g. down. I'm leaving town on Thursday and won't be back until Monday. I'll probably get everything next week.

Waste gate points about the same way a stock down pipe would point

The split ports are to prevent the cracking you encountered with your manifold.

Divided ports may help that but are supposed to help a twin scroll turbo spin up faster. This is going in my Rampage with a twin scroll HX35 Holset
