Yes, put the stock turbo back on. Have the revised super-70 back and it's ready to go on.
just have not made the time.
will look forward to seeing how it does.

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

I wanted to use a flat top valve cover so used one from a non-turbo. I used the inner cover first and then the aluminum valve cover over it. Thought this would be plenty to meet oil out of the PVC system but its not. When I take a hard right and then accelerate it dumps a little oil.
I tried to take a turbo valve cover baffle and modify it for the N/A cover but its not working out. The photo with the Play-Doh is me trying to see how much clearance there is.

You have any ideas to help the PVC system? To help stop the oil coming out the filter?

Johnny, I used a N/A baffle along with a Turbo valve cover a long time ago. I simply trimmed the baffle until it fit inside the Turbo valve cover without removing the stock Turbo baffle. I will be the first to admit that I have no idea if that actually made a difference or would prevent your issue, but that's what I did.

Did you determine what the problem was? W/G flapper not covering hole completely, wrong size turbine wheel in housing?

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

I "helped" find a buyer for a guys Consulier GTP, he sent me a wonderful care package today.
An original tool bag, which came with the cars when new. I didn't have this...until now.
And he included an original magazine ad that featured my car.
    And an original Consulier sticker.

It's not just you Rob, I tried to dig into the cause weeks ago with Johnny and he was being vague about answers with me as well. Johnny is a statesman, always striving politically correct with other vendors... Good on you Johnny, It just doesn't expand our knowledge base much. I wouldn't really be picking at this issue but myself and three other local TM guys have run into it over the years.

Well, you Know me as well as any Alan, I just think that the truth is Always the best way to go and the more truthful info out there, the Better others can hopefully diagnose/ recognize their own problems

Good, Bad or indifferent, doesn't really play into it with me, it is what it Is, others Should be able to Deal with it.

I was just curious because I've never seen anything like it, but if it needs to stay hush hush, that's OK too!

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

Not hushing it, I just want to be sure what is what.
I know the turbo was clipped and I did not ask for that.
Sent it back, they made it the way Im asked, not clipped.
    (this is a Calif company)

I have it and need to install it, then I will know if its good or not.

I also know, all I did was install the stock turbo and got all my boost back.

I will post once the new revised super 70 is installed.

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

Had a oil leak, fixed it.
i thought it was the cam seal, fixed most of it.
The valve cover rubber seal still leaked so replaced it.

seems all good now. No going to add a oil separator/catch can.

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

The leak was still there. Third times a charm. Used a Mopar valve cover gasket/seal this time.
It fit right, the after market ones don't.
Also installed the PVC catch can in the system.

The car is missing the white fiberglass rear wing. The fans need one there to work....
To be able to suck air through the center part of the radiator.
Photo of the first temporary wing I made and the new improved one.
