Light flywheel and torsen diff sounds like the perfect upgrades for that light RWD "turning" car.

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

Have had my car aligned 4 times since I bought it for 3 different reasons.
Each time it was done right, but the handling still was still off.

Changed bushings, ball joints, shocks, springs...checked wheel bearings. Still handling
was not right. Last week I had it on the lift to replace the horn and checked everything AGAIN!

Found a bad tie rod at the back of the car. A inner one on the passenger side.
It took force to make it show up, but I found it.

Bought a new tie rod. Installed it today. Solved the issues! Seems settled and
positive now. Took it on a test drive to the beach and back. FINALLY its right!!

Photo shows the original inner and a new one that was wrong, but the wrong one
looks like it would work on the outer. It is a Daytona tie rod.
The inner is from a 1984 Mazda GLC. ES2133L...its left hand thread.

Went to Vancouver Washington yesterday for a special invite only, friends car show and potluck.
A Lotus, a Viper, and many other cars were there at his place. Only one photo to share though...

One the way home, about 10 miles from home, had a intercooler hose pop off. No boost.
At a light in town, a new Corvette pulled up next to me. Gunned his engine once.
I could not go against him, not without boost. Might have been fun. BUT better to have
    "NOT" street raced.

You should have said "hold on a minute" while you popped the hose back on!

Since my GLHS is now out of the shop. I can reach the wall where it was, so am hanging wall art there. My Warren Mosler signed engine cover. Guess the Shelby sign should come down, sadly.

Moved the catch can and PCV system to the passenger side.
Made a bracket to attach to the under side of the intake manifold.
Ran the hoses. But do I have it plumbed right?

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

I thought you wanted one to have vacuum all the time and the other pressure. One line pre-turbo and the other post. I tried it from the manifold before and it will work when you're cruising, but when under boost you have two lines pressurizing the canister. I could be wrong though.

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

I'm probably in the minority, but I never run any PCV system on our 8 V Turbo engines. Luckily our engines don't sludge up even in winter so I consider removing the PCV as a detonation reducing safety feature. There is no up side to inducing octane reducing vapors into the engine air intake system. I like to keep the engine air intake totally free of any contaminates and let the crankcase breathe as freely as possible. The freerer the crankcase breathes the better, one valve cover nipple is barely adequate, two is prefered.

    Rant over!!

The car is beautiful Johnny, I'm glad you kept the original color scheme!!

    Thanks
    Randy

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

How did you do that Randy?
i have a issue with smoke when gas is off running down a long grade.
maybe something else?...like valve stem seals?
no smoke at normal or with gas on.

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

Johnny, just no connection from engine vacuum, intake manifold etc, or air intake, or air box to crankcase vent, eg valve cover nipple.

2POIN5TURBO shows his version in his 1988 Shelby Daytona 11 sec build thread. He's friends with Shadow and both these guys dont run PCV, so I'm in good company!!

If it were me, I'd ditch the PCV, put some miles on it and not be concerned with a bit of decell smoke if everything else is good.

    Thanks
    Randy

Because of the last trip I wanted these. Went to the show room to sit in one before getting them.
Now I am re-fabing the sliders to work....
